Yeahhh I getcha! DMC3 was really difficult to get used to, I remember getting stuck on the first mini-boss for ages! That grim reaper thing, you know? xD I think after about chapter seven or so, when you've upgraded your styles some and have enough money for health items, the game becomes less rigorous :D Cerberus and Agni / Rudra were terrible though, especially since if you restart the battle you don't get your items back!
Ahh, good luck with all of those secret missions! I beat most of them, but some of them were just far too frustrating! I believe I got though half of Very Hard mode before I moved on to another game xD [Apparently Japan's Hard mode was N.America / Europe's Normal mode. That smarts! XD] Have you tried Vergil mode?
PFFFTT HAHA I think everyone would agree that's a fitting title after playing it once through! :']
