I am what you would call a hard core collector when it comes to video games. Most all of the games you see on my profile i do own. Some times i buy games consistently and aren't able to play them all. You may notice that i am indeed a large RPG fan, started off enjoying Japanese role playing games, but then slowly worked my way into the western role playing genre. Although my preferred genre of games is role playing. I do also love platforming, and action adventure titles. I am not a huge fan of Fighters, racing or sports games in general. These hark back to the days of the PS/PS2 era which was my favorite era in video gaming.
Since then i have really broadened by horizon on video games, i started getting into the "shooting", platforming, action, and even the indie type genre's. Since then new generation games have a gone along way since their early years. Most developers now strive for a very realistic and unprecedented world with such outstanding visuals that really immerse you in its universe. With all of the innovative technological achievements in the industry now, you don't really need to be adept in any one genre to be immersed in video games. Just pick it up and play. Though i still have a long ways to go before i really consider my self a fan of shooters. Most of my friends who have been playing shooters much longer then i have, got the edge over me. It is a genre of video games that requires you to thing quickly and have a fast reaction time. But everyday i am enjoying more and more games. Though even today i would consider my self a retro gamer because i still go back and play some of the old classics that were such fond memories of my child hood. Their is nothing like an old side of classic nostalgia.
I came to this site because its an efficient way of organizing your game stats. Most other websites i have been to have automatic updates, but they are some times slow and inaccurate. With this simple blog site, at least i know that all of my data is accurate because i am updating it my self. The "other" icon represents games that i have played in emulation. I just wanted to make that clear. I also am a huge anime fan for those who do not know and im sure their are many gamers and anime fans alike on this site.

The music in the Ar tonelico series is by far the best of any series out there to me. It's the biggest highlight of the series for sure. The creator of the series pretty much invented a language to go along with the world. When you hear singing in the game it's not Japanese it's a language called hymmnos although there are some Japanese songs too. There's different dialects of hymmnos and it's so deep. The world and history of the series is so much deeper than what's showed in the games. There's a lot of supporting books and drama CD's that build upon the games and the series as a whole. I did meet my husband because of the series so that's another thing It's just a wonderful series of games and you can go so much deeper than the games if you choose to.
If you played Atelier Iris the first two Ar tonelico games will feel very familiar because they're from the same developer, Gust. Concept wise they're very different though. Item crafting is still a pretty big thing though which is a huge thing in the Atelier games. It plays a nice role in the Ar tonelico games too though. I think you'll enjoy it just seeing the other series you like.
I see you also have Ar nosurge on the PS3 which is a successor to the Ar tonelico series. Very awesome game too. I recommend playing it after finishing the main three Ar tonelico games.
