Dang, that's bad... Altough it's weird you found old data after restarting. It's possible RT64 is right, maybe the game saved to a different location than the default one. If not, I might be permanent software problem. I own a DS cartridge that just won't save progress no matter what and is stuck to the same save files. Of course, that cartridge is a lot older than BotW, and I don't know if this problem can apply to discs as well, I'm just guessing. I never experienced saving problems with any WiiU game.

I have never experienced this issue on any Wii U games. Do you have an external hard drive? Maybe the game saved to the system or the hard drive...? Just throwing out a guess.

Has anyone else had this happen? I opened up Breath of the Wild (Wii U version) today and all of my progress from yesterday didn't save. I know for a fact that I did save the game manually when I was done playing. I hope this is just a one-time issue, and not widespread because I'm not going to enjoy re-doing all of those sidequests I did yesterday. (I guess I'm lucky I didn't update my backlog yesterday)

Good luck finishing Skyward Sword before Breath of the Wild! It's a long one!

I would totally see how you would think the game is lackluster if you just let Mario go through all the easy levels without playing any of the other additional content.

Have you collected all of the colored coins in Mario Run? That and Toad Rally is the real meat of the game. Plus there are three additional secret levels.

That's also a possibility.

It doesn't make much sense to see a Pokémon colored in a certain way in a cutscene and then battle it with different colors, am I right? That's probably why shiny-locking exists.

Actually, in more recent games, some Pokémon can't be Shiny, and I think this applies to starters too.

You are still trying to get more Shinies? I thought anyone would get tired of SRing at 2!

Decided to head back to New Leaf, hm? I have been finding myself playing it a lot recently myself, all thanks to that update. It really gave the game an extra boost of life.

Oh yeah, the Arenas. I remember clearing Helper to Hero (in a cheated save file) but struggling hard with the normal Arena. Good luck!

I found the EXP Share a bit too good. I would reduce its effect to 33% of EXP, not 50%. Plus, I don't remember the game explaning it very well, so I just left it off the whole time. I thought it worked like in the past generations where the Pokémon that battles gets less EXP.
222h is still much less than my 800h in Platinum though
Yeah, I found the Gen6 story pretty weak too, and I fear that Gen7's story might be too. I'm especially worried by Team Skull, I feel like a plot about a science team making experiments on the island and slowly destroying the ecosystem would have bedn much better.
Yeah, all those models show the Pokémon in a standing position, while the Gen4 sprites show them in differeng positions. Even the Gen5 ones have special animations in the middle.
Well, Mega Evolutions are already pretty nice. The lack of new Megas revealed seems to point towards a Sinnoh remake too, just like I thought.
I'm gonna hope too, but I can't judge a game unless I played it, unlike those Color Splash haters.
You just need to 4 more games. You can do it!

Good things in Gen6? Do you mean models? I hate models, I would much rather go back to the Gen5 animated sprites. Or maybe you meant Mega Evolutions?
I think Gen4 should be the starting games for anyone who wants to get in the series, Platinum and HeartGold/SoulSilver are definitely really good Pokémon games and maybe the best in the series (again, HGSS is a fan favorite from what I've seen). I also don't mind the HP bar being slow (that's what you were referring to?), it adds a nice touch of surprise when it stops so suddenly.

Also, some of the music in DPPt is absolutely beautiful, and I freaking love good video game music.

I need to say something about Platinum. People don't give the Sinnoh games enough credit. Despite missing out on all of the convenient things in XY/ORAS, Platinum is a really good game. I've always heard that DPPt were the black sheep games of the Pokémon series, and I wouldn't be missing much by skipping them. After playing Pt, though, I definitely disagree. Despite how slow the gameplay is compared to other games in the series, I think that Pt is one of the better Pokémon games I've played. Now will it replace HGSS as my favorite games in the series? Who knows? I still have another badge and the post game to get through. Dang this game is good. (Sorry if this was long, I just needed somewhere to say this and this seemed like a good place)

You NEED to try it soon. The beginning might seem pretty normal but there are sections that push the series like never before. I am sad this isn't official. I wish Nintendo hired this guy. This is the coolest Metroid game I have played.
