Oh wow, Press Your Luck as a video game, how awesome! I loved that show when I was a kid! Big money, big money, no whammies and STOP!...on a catamaran! They always had a catamaran as one of the prize boxes.

I could definitely not beat it in 6 hours. Haha. That's a pretty solid time! That's tragic about the SNES game/console loss. We lost like half of our NES collection mysteriously when I was younger, including some really fun games (Silver Surfer, Talespin, etc).

I'm not sure what you mean with the 'master' question, so I'll assume you want to know how I classify those games and answer anyways. Haha. Even if I've beaten a game multiple times, I don't really think I have it mastered unless I can play it from start to finish in one go without referencing any guides or anything. And while completely some sort of challenge (all items, speed run, points run, etc). The only RPGs I can do that in are Robotrek and 7th Saga. The others require me to go and look stuff up or whatever.

As for platformers or other genres, I try to only mark a game as mastered when I've done a speed run of it. If I beat it once, I call it 'beaten'. If I have beaten it a few times or am pretty good at it, I call it 'completed' (since there is rarely a collection aspect to platformers). I only label those genres as 'mastered' after I've done a speed run or points run I'm really proud of. ^_^

I've gotten them all, just not all in the same run. How many time must you really play through a game to master it?

Back when I had a SNES I was working on a speedrun route. I had a plan, but I never got a chance to pull it off in one sitting. Now my sister has lost the SNES and all the games while moving to and from college. With a little luck at the Kraken I think I could beat it in around 6 hours, single sitting.
