They are on PSN too if you really, really want to play them, but if you want them physically, prepare to empty your wallet good. I try to emulate as less as possible, so I will remain on the lookout till I literally got nothing else to play.

Yeah, it was far more tolerable in the second game. I didn't really like the first game that much, but I loved the second game. Kind of a shame you have to play the first one to get to the second but eh. I liked Zestiria's characters, but not really because they were actual good characters, but because of their characteristics. Thought the story was pretty lame though, I personally dislike when they introduce characters that are 'invisible to the human eye' because like time travel, if it's done poorly, it sucks. It doesn't necessarily suck here, but I'm still not a fan of it.

That's a fair arguement, I wouldn't like playing this game on my PSP as well, at least not intensively. 3ds is a bit better for it, but I'm most comfortable with a controller attached to my pc. For Gurumin though, I think the chances are even more slim than the Trails in the Sky games to get a physical edition, unless counting the PSP version .

Treehouse is translating the game? That... does not sounds exciting at all. I like how it looks, but that is something I will keep in mind before purchasing the game. Though I should play the first Xenoblade first probably, but I'm going to have fun finding that game physically /sarcasm. Then again, I do not have a lot of knowledge about Xenoblade but 2 doesn't looks like a direct sequel to it. Only time will tell, have to get a Switch first anyways .

Mhm I know, but I can see where they're coming from. I've played a lot of JRPGs myself, but there are also a lot I still haven't played, so while I personally consider it the best out there, I know that there are also games that may be even better. Heck, I've never even touched a Xeno game before, or Suikoden. There are also a lot of Atlus games I haven't played yet. Life's too short for all these games . I'm playing Trails in the Sky 3rd first, so I might take the risk to wait for Zero and Azure to be translated first before I get to Cold Steel. Considering how long these games and the other games I want to play are, that might even be a safe bet .

I liked Zestiria I guess, but I really hated the direction Xillia went: big open roads between towns with literally nothing in them, and nothing memorable about them, but there are chests everywhere so I still need to check the whole road. I really hated that about Xillia, and it was my least favourite part of Xillia 2 which I'd otherwise consider one of my favourites. Zestiria did a better job at it with quite a few optional dungeons and the roads looking far more memorable, though the story in that game was just eh. Berseria looks a lot better than the both of them, but I'll have to play it before I can judge on that. The characters alone appeal to me very much though.

Gurumin is pretty fun so far. The story is nothing special so far, but it's more a gameplay focussed game anyways. And the main character is a cocky little girl with a drill who has a dickish response to everything. I kinda like that . The gameplay itself is pretty fun, kinda like the later Ys games really with a bit of Zelda added to it. If you can get it for a nice price, definitely a recommendation. It's also on the psp in case you're interested.

Do you think Berseria is worth checking out for someone who didn't dig the Xillia games? I figured I'd be done with the series after disliking those two but I'm weak when it comes to JRPGs I can play on PC.

That's true, our backloggery meter will never decrease at this rate.. Oh well, one man can hope I guess. A lot of people consider the Trails series to be the best JRPG series out there, and TitS2 the best JRPG ever, so the support is there. The question only remains if they'll actually make profit bringing it over here, since the fanbase is pretty niche and since the Trails series are known for their extensive world building and dialogue, I can imagine translating costs being very high.

I am still planning to get Berseria, probably as a summer game this year. Just can't find the time for it, or I have another game with more priority around. New Neptune game coming to Steam soon, and there are still 2 spin-offs I haven't played yet. Cold Steel is also coming to Steam, which seems to be an enhanced version as well, so I'm conflicted as to what version I should play. And then there's TitS3, which I also can't wait to play. Long story short, gonna be busy with all my JRPGs .

Oh hell yeah, can't give this game enough praise. Some of the best world building and character development out there, and a great battle system that provided me with some of the most intense boss battles any JRPG gave me. Also a great OST but eh, it's Falcom, that's almost a guarantee. I love this game so much, that after playing I immediately wanted to return, even though the game took so long to finish. But eh, there's always the third game amiright .

Don't count on a physical edition or collection of all 3 for a while though. It is a wonder we even got the third game over here, though I am very glad the niche fanbase was able to make it happen.

Guess it's pretty obvious I like Futaba a lot, ha. Definitely high on my priority list of things to get this year. All the games I really wanted this year already came out so I don't feel bad for spending the rest of my game money on an expensive figure, especially if its as nice as that one.

Mhm yeah, it kinda stays grindy and repetitive, though a bit less with every sequel. The jokes and characters are the main attraction though, but I'm sure you already noticed that. I mean, Megadimension is partly just the real-life story of the rise and death of the Dreamcast, they've just hidden it under a Neptunia story .

Sidequests giving you grief? I haven't had much trouble with them until the very end, with some of them being very arduous intel collection stuff. As a whole I felt like they were better than the ones in Nier, if not only for the virtue of Automata being more engaging to play.

Persona is absolutely checking out despite the setting. They have some of the most satisfying character writing in any RPG I've played, and they have some of the best turn based battle systems around (with the battle system being a variation on SMT3's battle system, which is *the best* battle system ever made). Music is also really good but that might be something you wouldn't be into, it tends to be a lot of J-pop styled stuff.

Basically if you were down with the school setting in Trails of Cold Steel, you'd be down for it in Persona, since ToCS basically just borrowed that aspect from Persona (albeit a bit less streamlined in execution).

You're in for something really special with Automata. I legitimately think its one of the best games to come out within the last 7 years, and has an incredibly high possibility of being my favorite game to come out between 2010 and 2020. I thought Persona 5 would be the end all be all for me but I have a hard time imagining even that surpassing Automata.

Not to overhype it, but ya know

All of them are great games, especially if you don't mind Japanese culture too much and are a gamer of old, though I'm sure that last one is a given. And they're not too long for JRPG standards either (when focussing on just the main story), so that's an added bonus I guess . Tell me what you think of them later, Nep slowly became one of my favourite franchise in these past few years!

About 11 hours to get Ending A. So far there has been a substantial increase of new content in the 2nd playthrough; more original content than what's in Nier or Drakengard 3's subsequent playthroughs/branches. I'm hearing that this game also has more than 4 endings so I think length will be fine in the end. For reference I'm at 16 hours now and about halfway through the second playthrough.

How was Gravity Rush 2? I heard it wasn't substantially different from the first other than scale and that kind of put me off of it (found a lot of GR1 to be frustrating more often than it was fun, in a Super Mario Sunshine kind of way but no where near as fun as that game overall).

Also, have you preordered Nier Automata yet? I scrounged up enough to get the NA version but its been hard to dodge spoilers since the english version is encluded with the Japanese release. I've managed thus far but I'm weary of my youtube recommendations now, ha.

Believe me, I am shocked as well . But I still have to beat Megadimension Neptunia VII and perhaps even Trails in the Sky SC first, so I won't have time for it for a while ;_;

The Bethesda burnout must be real strong. Around lvl 40 seems to be a common drop off point for people in Skyrim, pretty sure that was when it happened to me.

Hey, sorry I couldn't reply until now, I was on vacation in Europe and didn't have much internet access, ha.

But yeah, I knew about the demo and got the chance to play it and its got my hype levels through the roof right now. The fact that it still feels like Nier despite being a Platinum game is so fuckin great, because that was my biggest worry for it.
