As am I. I wish I would play it more, but a distraction of developing my own game in Unity feels more important than the Metroid game we should've gotten from Nintendo for its 30th anniversary (the idea of potentially earning money from it certainly helps). Instead, they gave us a second game that character-assassinates Samus and they don't even acknowledge the 30th anniversary or give us a game that Metroid is known for.

The GB version of Return of Samus is what got me hooked on the series. I'd played the original on the NES before that, but I was too young to appreciate it. Super Metroid ranks at the top, hands down. It's perfection.

Oh man, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is great, so far! I never played the original PS2 version, but I guess it is much improved. It doesn't lag from large amounts of enemies on the screen anymore. The alchemy system has been modified also, but I don't know how. I'm not too sure of what else was done for changes...

The story is actually pretty decent, I think. It's not normal, me getting into the plot. I usually just skim through and button press my way through to the next battle. This time, I'm actually reading and paying attention to everything.

The characters, so far, have been fun also. Just started the next one and have been unable to form an opinion. Need to get used to her play style still, which I am not really liking yet. Hopefully, some more skills will help. I only have one so far... Two, if you include the basic, first skill that allows you to attack.

There are five total characters to play as, by the way. Out of the three I've seen, Cornelius is my favorite. Fun to fight with and has a touching story. Pookas are pretty cute too, so that helps him out a bit!

I would certainly push you into the direction of getting it, and Dragon's Crown. All I needed to hear was that it played like Dragon's Crown to make me want it day one. I think they're both made by the same people too?

Also... It's been a LONG time! Funny, my last comment mentioned me favoring my 3DS over Vita. Now, my Vita has been getting all of the love.

Also, also... Hello!

hey there!

I'm liking it so far, haven't played in a bit but I should go back to it. I thought the story of rebirth 2 was kinda trying to hard to be serious and the characters were boring, but 3 is back to the charm of the rebirth 1 for me.

Just as great as Guardian of Light, maybe even better. There are some great boss fights and really interesting puzzles. I can't imagine how more chaotic it would be with three other people though, ha. Right now I'm trying to pace myself because I don't want it to end too quickly. Who knows when the next Tomb Raider will come out...

I'm enjoying Bloodlines. It's short and not too hard, but that's a good thing. I didn't feel like playing oldskool hardcore Castlevania anyway.

Heh, yeah, DeBlob 2 did it right with the checkpoints. Good thing I'm not going back to the first one.
Didn't like the time limits, though. I had to restart several levels (where I got distracted) from scratch and free more graydians to get more time.
Anyway, next up: Skyward Sword.

Well, if you were never able to tell earlier, I'm a bit of a Nintendo fanboy. So naturally I love the Wii U for virtue of the fact that it'll have all of my favorite Nintendo franchises on it >_>.

But aside from that, I really am impressed with the Gamepad. It's incredibly ergonomic and I really do believe that a touch screen can be used in some pretty awesome, non-gimmick ways if developers implement it correctly or not. As for games, the launch was solid, there are a fair amount of games I want but a lot of them seem to be pretty far off. I'd say most people that don't already own one should probably wait, regardless of whether or not they have the funds.

I really do like old games as well. I feel like a lot of "old-school" gamers underrate modern gaming, especially with all of the retro revival stuff on XBLA, Wii, and Steam, but at the same time some of my favorite games from this and last-gen have basically been reimagined versions of classic games so eh. But on the topic of that DreamCast DIY arcade thing, dude, that sounds freaking awesome! I love arcade atmospheres, and the DreamCast certainly had a great library of fighting games for that sort of thing. Plus fighting game tournaments are pure hype. I love watching good players go at some of those games. I'd love to do something like that one day. And I pretty much agree that something like that is really the single most "fun" thing in gaming. .

Is it even possible to beat the first Legend of Kage? I made it all the way to the end, saved that girl (or whoever), then the game just repeats itself at a harder difficulty. I was never able to get through the second lap of the game!

DS/3DS games have definitely taken all my attention. I am starting to feel bad for my Vita/PSP. Poor thing... I do have quite a few games to play on it but I never get around to it.

Oh, I actually have no issue with the actual modding of consoles and such, that's all fine and dandy. Plus mods are what lead to fan development projects, such as the Brawl mod Project M! It's just....that's no excuse for piracy .

I don't really like the excuse "there will always be people who buy the games" for reasons I don't really want to explain now. But again, if you choose to do so that's your choice, and I don't really like getting into arguments with people on Backloggery since it seems like the community as a whole doesn't really seem to be very argumentative .

I've played Sam and Max and Zack and Wiki, but not Monkey Island or Maniac Mansion. Now that you bring up those games I kind of feel bad for calling VLR one, because of how much of an emphasis there is on story over those games.

....Come on dude, don't pirate games . Well, I mean, I guess it's your decision if you do, I don't really care if you do or don't >_>. But VLR's the kind of game that deserves your money. Unless, of course, you don't live in a country where it's released and you need a modcard in order to import it .

But yeah, 999 is fantastic. The writing's a bit iffy at certain parts (I feel like by the ending everything wasn't adequately explained), but it's just one of those stories that really blew my mind at certain parts. And all of the characters and development are fantastic too. I really loved the point-and-click style gameplay. It's really the kind of game that anyone who enjoyed the Phoenix Wright games owes themselves to play.

VLR isn't quite as good so far, but it's still really good. In terms of the gameplay this is one of the best Adventure (as in point-and-click style adventure) games I've played, and while the story isn't quite as amazing as 999's (it's a lot slower and the characters aren't as interesting so far), it's still quite good.

Well, as long as you have it. Enjoy the pain of having too much to play. Having too little to play sounds terrifying. It's why when people talk about droughts when games aren't being released as often, I'm like "What drought!? I'm still trying to finish games from a decade ago!" But a it's good problem to have the way I think of it.

Cool, Steel Battalion. Only reason I bought an XBOX. I only made it to the third level though, I found the controls too intimidating. I did play the practice level over and over again though. Just booting up your Mech was already awesome.

Just had to add you back after spotting Legend of Kage 2 on your BL, along with mention of playing the original game. You may very well be the first person I've found on BL that has mentioned them!

I adored the first game on NES (I can still hear the music in my head, if I think about it) and played it so much. Stopped playing the sequel after getting my butt kicked by the second boss, not too long after it initially released.

I was so excited for the sequel's release that I pre-ordered it and waited impatiently. It's been years since I've played it now...
