Metroid Prime Remastered
This surprise remaster was released during a rough time in my life, so this actually served as something of an escape from reality for me. Absolutely gorgeous looking game, and it felt like I was seeing an old friend again. There's a few different control schemes to choose from: a new modernized scheme that lets you move the camera with the right stick, and two classic style schemes based on the Gamecube and Wii versions. I think this is still a great game that's worth experiencing, despite its age.
Kirby Returns to Dreamland Deluxe
Another remaster of an classic title. Given that its a Kirby game, you know it'll be worthwhile with extra goodies and such; two brand new copy abilities that are fun to use and fit right into the game, many classic subgames returned, and there's even a brand new epilogue starring Magolor that has some fun mechanics that I'd like to see become mainstream in a Kirby game. Probably one of my favorite Kirby games.
Super Mario RPG
An excellent remake of an excellent RPG. A lot of love and care was put into this one to keep it close to the source material while modernizing the game. There's even some new stuff sprinkled in to keep you on board, although all of this still shouldn't take more than 20-25 hours to finish. The action command system keep you invested during the game's turn-based combat sequences, and its honestly something I wish more RPGs of this category did. If you haven't played the original in a long time or you just want to know what the fuss is about, I'd strongly recommend this remake.
Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst
This one kinda feels like cheating. lol One of my all time favorite games. I've been playing on a fan server with my brother now that he's moved away, so it's been a great way to keep being able to play Phantasy Star together despite the distance. I never really got to experience the Blue Burst content before, so that's a plus.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
I'll have to get some more time in with this one, but I really do like what I'm seeing with it so far. Cute visuals and fun 2D platforming action; it's a breath of fresh air compared to the last few New Super Mario Bros. games that just look samey and stale.
