I'm kind of amazed how committed I am to this game. I have all but three sync parties, and have only spent money to support the team.

Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
Well darn, I probably could have saved the money then... There are a few classes I do have to beat it with yet. All those trophies too! My old memory card got destroyed with my first Vita years ago, so I’m started from scratch... If I ever decide to start it up again.

This PS4 may have revived my backlog, but Animal Crossing is taking over!

Oh, I definitely know Dragon’s Crown! I played over 100 hours of it for sure on the Vita. I was hoping there was extra content in the Pro release. It’s one of my favorite games.

Minion of Bak'laag: 100+ unfinished games
Thank you for the add! (and sorry for my delayed response)

Oh my goodness there are so many lovely things I can say about FFXII. I will admit I was one of those people in the wagon of "FFXII is eh, it's okay" until I picked up The Zodiac Age and started playing through it again for the first time in years. For me the story is practically brand-new since I remember literally zero about the original.. I kind of rushed the original PS2 version because that's how much I did -not- enjoy it. TZA on the other hand..

As I'm nearing the end of the game (or so my boyfriend tells me) I'm feeling pretty excited but also sad. I know I have a good chunk of game left but I'm really enjoying the party composition I went with for my all girls team (I'm a weirdo, I know, but tanky Fran is best Fran). Ashe absolutely obliterates with black magic and Penelo despite being my white mage is still beating baddies down with her staff (or her Save The Queen she has atm :p ).

Fangirling aside I feel FFXII gets a really bad rep for the original for a lot of reasons, mostly the combat system speed, the sound of the game being horribly compressed sounding in the original, etc. I feel people see TZA and think it's just the same thing but with a prettier coat of paint on it. I've talked to many people recently about FFXII and can't recommend it highly enough. After having grown up and matured as a gamer over the years I truly appreciate a game that allows me to choose and mix my classes as I please, and allowing me to choose who I want in my party versus "this person is the hero you MUST have them in your pt." I'm also a big fan of FF3 on the NDS too tho so I think TZA really meshes well w/ my love for that job system.

Okay I'm done dropping this huge wall of text on you. Hope you're doing well & enjoying the vidja! Thanks for the add again

Oops! I stand corrected! Though knowing that, I think I'd still it just to not stress myself if I never get to since I have the pressure of two rpgs breathing down my back atm. And Stardew, even when playing aimlessly, is a relaxing contrast. I love the multiplayer feature! If you're ever down, let's do it! Though I'm still learning the ropes so some time on my end is likely a good thing. :P

Cursed: 10+ new games in a row
In my Golden Deer run, I discovered that while Mercedes doesn't have positive affinity toward Gauntlets, she does have neutral affinity, so I'm actually making her a Bishop with the Aura Gauntlets (magic based). That's the type of thing I bet this game will excel at, but I agree completely that the Master classes don't feel gracefully threaded into the Advanced ones.

As far as stat distribution and skills, the Master classes are closer to Hybrid classes, and that probably would've been a better name. Dark Knight, for example, is powerful because you put your Warlock on a horse, but they actually get half the spell casts that Warlock does because of Class-unique skills. All that to say, I agree that the Master classes are handled poorly, but it might help to not think of them as the "final" tier of the other classes.

Yeah, I had a hard time (and eventually quit trying because of it) talking with other FE players for a long time about it because you seriously do have to finish every route to get a clear picture of the world. And that's cool in some ways, but it also meant that we were bickering about events with half the information for a month lol. And yeah, I simply don't have that kind of time anymore. Fire Emblem is the only 10+ hour long game I've played since it released and I still have ~15 chapters to go.

The music, EDM very much included, is all excellent imo. I don't normally love the leitmotif approach, but it works here, especially when the big band instruments join in post time skip.
