The Switch is making a very good impression so far. If only the mail man would deliver my games now!

*ahem*

Yeah, my N64 is still hooked up to my TV, it just doesn't see much use these days. OoT is a damn fine game. I suggest you to check out the original even after you beat the remake. It just feels completely different.

So, what did I play today? The "watch my Switch shipping status all day" game. It's pretty bad, I can't recommend it at this point. But I heard there's an update coming in the next few days which might actually make it enjoyable.

At least I'm certain that I will never manage to finish Etrian 2 in time. Impossible, the game is just too big. Are you planning on beating anything before the 3rd?

It's still nice you've brought your count to 4 again.
No, I did A Link Between Worlds and actually enjoyed it. I never played an open-world game because I don't like exploring really large worlds. I would get lost pretty easily.
I'm going to play through the remake first. I don't really like VC either, I prefer playing games on their original console with their original controller.
That's nice to hear, hopefully I won't have a lot of troubles and will actually finish the game.

I'm not gonna risk it. Color Splash stays wrapped for the time being. I will also SO not finish Etrian 2 in time because this game is way longer than I initially thought. The thought of just giving up is really sad because I've actually taken a liking to the game despite the slow and frankly uninteresting first couple of hours.

You've ... never played a Zelda game? It's time to remedy that. Just in time for Breath of the Wild. Although it's a very good game, I would recommend you to play the original Ocarina of Time on N64 before starting the 3DS remake. The remake did some ... let's just say unfavorable things to a couple of segments which made the original game stand out. The final boss being of of them.

I can't speak for BotW of course, but you're in for a treat. Reading the previews, it sounds like BotW is actually a good place to get started with the Zelda franchise. Let's just hope the game doesn't fall prey to the open world disease which is just mindlessly following waypoint markers and slaving away from gathering point A to treasure chest X to craft weapon Z.

Anyway, have fun!

Late reply, I only happened to check your page now.
Color Splash isn't really long, BTW. If you try and avoid as many enemy battles as you can the game should only take 3 days to finish, maybe even 2. It's not completely useless to battle enemies since you can extend your max Paint, but Paint itself is rarely used in big quantities (except for painting Cards - but then again, painted version exist, and you can buy as many as you want because Coins are really common).
You're right, but I want to play it because I'm not used to Zelda games at all, let alone open-world games. Actually, this should be my first one if I'm not mistaken.
I pre-ordered my Switch and my BotW copy long ago, I'm all set.

I highly doubt I can finish both Etrian 2 and Color Splash. At first, I thought hurrying to finish the 3DS games wouldn't matter that much, then I remembered that I can also play the Switch in bed which is usually the 3DS' territory. I should at least try to finish Etrian 2 because I think I would abandon the game come March 3rd. Color Splash can wait, I think. I dunno. It's hard.

If I were you, I would hold off from playing OoT just yet. You wouldn't want to be tired of Zelda games when the new one releases. By the way - are you getting a Switch or will you be playing the Wii U version?

You've got this!
Meanwhile, I can't even force myself to play Ocarina 3D even when Breath of the Wild is a week away from release.

I just don't. I don't really like platformers where each level takes ~30 minutes to complete.
We don't know yet - after that last Direct, when Pikmin 3DS was announced, we never got any more info about the game. I have a feeling this is Pikmin 4, though.
To be honest, I'd rather have a new Mario Kart game than a remake. Even if it doesn't have any new ground-breaking feature like the past 5 or so games, I wouldn't mind that much. Keep in mind MK8 has already got 48 tracks, including DLC, and pushing it to beyond 50... I dunno, the game seems too big to me. Anyways, where was it confirmed? If you are referring to the Switch trailer, it was revealed those were just images added after the filming, not actual game footage.
That's a possibility, but it could also be extremely lucky RNG. Can't really tell, since I've found Shinies in other generations too (other than the forced ones, of course).
...The more I look at it, the less I like it. I'm not really a fan of most Shiny variants anyways, I usually prefer the ones that make the Pokémon blue (Flygon, for example) or change it from dark blue to light blue (Poliwag and Glaceon).

I actually didn't like Tropical Freeze that much, I couldn't find enough motivation to it. I don't like its level design style that much and I feel like all the levels are too long.
As for Pikmin 4, I thought that 3DS Pikmin puzzle was Pikmin 4 all along?
I completely agree with all your other points, though, and I assume you also think Mario Kart 8 is being ported (sadly, it's pretty likely).
Weird, my Shiny was a Poliwag too. That's a lot of Shines for a single playthrough, I only came across three in my entire life. I guess I can kinda rival your luck, though, since I also got the Pokérus for the first time ever.
Shiny Litten and others are actually pretty ugly IMO, all the black parts are replaced with a really broght white and creates an unpleasant contrast with the red.

Hearing later puzzles are really tough is... a bit frightening for a beginner like me.
Even if I could upgrade, there would still be a problem... Why did I even buy a Wii U in the first place if the games are being remade anyways? Even though I'm rather happy Splatoon is being remade, since I skipped it when it first came out, how many games which are probably not getting a remake were worth buying? The only ones that come to my mind right now are 3D World and Rayman Legends (and I still can't find a retail copy of the latter).
Level 91 Caterpie? That's gonna be hard to get, grinding is terrible in Sun. My starter still hasn't reached level 90.
That's nice luck. I got a Shiny Poliwag while playing through the game too.

I didn't like Dillon that much, honestly. Feels kinda repetitive even after the first mission, and I didn't want to push myself much further than that.
I was wrong then. I dunno, I might get it for Christmas if I don't have many other games to buy.
I've already heard of people being crazy lucky with GTS (someone got a Shiny Popplio from it, for example), but I usually don't have that sort of luck, so I don't really bother. Besides, I'm making pretty good progress without help from anybody (2/3rds of the job done, that's a lot), and I should be able to finish it without ever using GTS.
Makes sense, and I'm hoping Nintendo finally learnt their lesson... but what is worrying me are the remakes of very recent games. I'm NOT willing to pay 50€ to buy a slightly improved version of a game I already own. This isn't the same deal as the Pokémon remakes, since those are vastly improved from their predecessors. Unless there are some promotions, such as "give away your old retail copy and get the updated version free" (something highly unlikely), I fear I might be skipping on all of those remakes. Doesn't hold me back from buying the console and the new games, but still...

It's possible the games might have been overlooked a bit, but as far as I know they got pretty positive reviews. Or maybe making sequels to eShop games is just common practice. Looks at the first Dillon game - it barely has any coverage on the Internet (literally not even a LP) and the reviews aren't that good, yet it still got a sequel (which was as forgotten as the first game anyways).
Well, according to the recent rumors, they will have a pretty good line up. I just looked at the headlines, but it looks like there will be quite a few big games at launch (and GCN Virtual console at some point). It doesn't really matter to me either way, if there is no important game coming the future I can just play games from past consoles.
Picross 3D Round 2... Am I making things up, or was it coming to Europe on 2017?
Oh, so you've been able to do it without trading with Moon? So I'm assuming going through the Ultra Wormhole on top of the Altar of the Sunne gives you access to the Moon version exclusives and not just Cosmog, right?
Completing a living Dex isn't that hard, once you've got all the evolved Pokémon you just breed a lot.

I've been proven wrong, good. Jokes aside, I really wasn't expecting a third game, and the new gameplay ideas look amazing so far! I'm glad this game exists (and I'm also rather happy it's not named BOXBOXBOXBOY), this is one of the few puzzle series I truly liked. Crossing my fingers for an European 2017 release - between this game, Yooka-Laylee and the Switch, next year is going to be great for my video gaming pleasure.

Hey, it's not that bad, Paper Jam can be broken even more. Specifically, if you do a first playthrough where you get all the Character Cards for Toad and then use the same amiibo in the second playthrough all the time, you can essentially almost double the EXP and Coins you are supposed to get during the game. Right now I'm in a supposedly post-game level while I'm at about 75% of the story, and also have 100k+ Coins (I might need all of them). Plus, the game starts to break after the FIRST boss. I don't know anything about Superstar Saga but it can't be more broken than this...

As far as it seems, it's just a title.
BOXBOXBOXBOY? Nah The story arc is concluded by now, plus I think that 200+ clever levels are enough. The devs must be worn out by now, I don't think they can make another 100+ while keeping the same quality of the prequels.
Same here, only that I play it on my comfy sofa. Wii and WiiU should be up next too after I get back from vacation in two days. The NX seems to be an hybrid between a tablet and an handheld. I'm kinda worried the NX will be marketed as one of those stupid "Kids' Tablet" around in the market. I still don't believe the rumors anymore, and really, if the NX is something I dislike, I have still a backup plan: fangaming.

Ha, I'm not the only one who didn't care about S Ranks Though I might get back to it one day. I already did S Ranks for W0 and W1. Being able to do every level one at a time is much better than doing a marathon of all of them, like in BOXBOY.
I have played way more games than you see here. I merely started keeping track when I made my Backloggery account.
