- by admiralsandwich a.ka "Riss." Surprisingly enough, Final Fantasy VI was not always my favorite of the series. I did play it around the time it originally came out on the Super Nintendo as "Final Fantasy III," but I wasn't quite into roleplaying ... (read more)

MGS4 eaten at last! Let's see...right now,MGS3 is still slightly better. In a few things,MGS4 wins hard:the final fistfight with Liquid Ocelot (with the health bars shifting to those of the old MGS titles) was epic and the whole Act4 was the greatest part of any MGS for me.However, some of the new mechanics felt kinda forced into it and the game felt too cutscene-heavy: i really don't mind that, but the fact that i spent the majority of Act 5 by watching cutscenes didn't click well with me..This one was an awesome experience with plenty of great moments, but overall it felt like it lacked that something that just made MGS3 an even better experience for me.

hey i saw on Kongwen's page you said you picked up Darksiders. I'm really enjoying what I've played of it this far (although it has been put on a sorta perma-hold status since ME2 hit) either way I love pretty much everything (aside from the atrocious screen-tearing of which a patch is said to be in the works to fix) about it so hopefully you will too. ![]() planning on doing a 2nd run in ME2? Which class was your first playthrough done as (I'll guess a soldier as most people did)?

hehe the big 'O' arises once more between us. Its my opinion and preference that the concept of Sly is more appealing to me, despite very much enjoying Ratchet & Clank. I may well redesignate after playing more of all three of the series. For now, I'm sticking with Sly > R&C > Jak, in true 'biased-gamer' style. ![]()

AotS in the running for best DBZ game I've ever played Although I should have expected nothing less from Monolith. I just wish we had DBZ RPGs like this back in the SNES days

Heh, I know many people feel the same. Mind you I pick my share of renegade options when appropriate with my main Shepard as well, but still more often the paragon or even neutral ones. That's just the way I roll I guess, it all goes back to that "chaotic good" preference. ![]() Hmm... then again maybe a large part of the reason I can't take this Shepard seriously is simply because his male, haha. In my head it's decided Shepard is female and I can't change that anymore.

So, NMH2... In all honesty, I can't say I liked it more than the first, but I also can't say I liked it less. Some of the game's downpoints are: No driving around Santa Destroy, lack of personality on many bosses, no awesome introduction when starting a level, the training 'minigames', the 'difficulty curve' of the game... Some bosses are awfully easy, while others are hair-pullingly hard. While some of it's high points are: The new story, new gameplay, being able to play as Henry and Shinobu, the new 'jobs' minigames, improved length. (I'm not sure on that one, it did FEEL longer, but maybe it wasn't.) Also disappointing is the lack of assassin jobs, replaced by 'revenge missions' which are just not quite the same. Oh yeah, and no 'wtf' ending or secret optional boss. Overall, I'd say it's 'different' while remaining in the spirit of the original, the game is great and I wasn't let down by it, even though I went into it with slightly high expectations. (All I really expected is for it to be better, and I can't say if it's better or not.)
