Minion of Bak'laag: 100+ unfinished games
So it seems after all these years my avatar photo and page banner are screwed since I was just using photos someone uploaded onto photobucket. Now I am in need of something new to use. Anyone have any ideas? I always see everyone with those cool themes so I wanna get one myself.

BotW has been A LOT of fun for me. It was months before I played anything else and still I'll boot it up instead of other games.

All the art I've used has been posted on Twitter by various Nintendo accounts.

Yeah, I agree... I do a lot of savestating on some of my older games just because of the time/investment. I don't spam it religiously like every attack I make on a boss, but I use it enough to where it saves time and progress instead of needlessly having to do it all over. It's very handy, especially considering how many games are flooding the market and the rapid rate that they are.

No problem at all! Cheers on the new job and the congrats on the eventual wedding I've been pretty busy acclimating to my new job as well! Not that it stopped me from getting some more 's under my belt

Last time we were discussing FF XIII I believe. In a lot of ways, I think FF XV really learned from FF XIII's missteps. Not that FF XV is perfect. I think splitting story between a game, a movie, an anime, and DLC wasn't a smart move. The gameplay is still super enjoyable though! Just waiting on the DLC to get discounted.

Now I just need to get some motivation to beat the other Final Fantasies in my Backlog (7, 8, 9, 10, spinoffs..)

But Percy can dash! Makes up a lot for his slowness.

I agree Lancelot should be terrible, but I do strangely well with him.

To me, the thing with Gothic is I think the series has a fair amount of potential, but it's marred by a huge amount of issues with both games (My save refuses to load in G1 right when I got to the end, and I'm about 1/3 through G2). The difficulty is insane, but I think it promotes save scumming. At least that's how I played the first game, I saved after every encounter or two. Sorry to hear about your work though, I understand how frustrating that can be.

I'm a big fan of having minions, without a doubt. My cousin's best class is a Witch Doctor, and the way his character plays looks really damn fun. My favorite class to play in Diablo II is a Summoner Druid, then a Summoner Necromancer. I remember way back when there was no cap on the Summon Skeletons on a d2 Necromancer, it was kind of amazing, but extra painful to play online with a Summoner Necromancer at the same time, cause they could literally kill you with lag. Back then, my connection was pretty spotty, and I not so fondly remember running into "lag walls" (basically when the game stopped loading the next area due to a shitty connection) very frequently. I'm not sure if playing on Torment II right out of the gate is a good way to tell how it plays, if only cause you do so little damage anyway, but I also think the fact that I got Cain on Torment II without dying (I think), is a good testament to how it plays, or rather how well I play with it, especially after only so little time with it. I can't wait to discover more of the Necromancer's skills in d3.

I think Breath of the Wild has had some of the best official art in the series.

About the Gamecube games, I'm not sure about their prices or availability, but I'd recommend:
- Baten Kaitos Origins (it's a prequel to the one you played),
- Eternal Darkness,
- Evolution Worlds (it's both Evolution and Evolution 2 from the Dreamcast in a single release),
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (it's much better with friends, but multiplayer requires multiple GBAs like Zelda: Four Swords Adventures),
- Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance,
- Luigi's Mansion (haven't played this one personally, but its 3DS sequel was really good),
- Pokémon Colosseum (stealing Pokémon feels good),
- Pikmin,
- Skies of Arcadia Legends (classic JRPG from the Dreamcast that was ported to GC with extra content),
- Super Mario Sunshine.

So I picked up a cheap game for the Gamecube today, and it turns out it's really bad. But it got me thinking and realizing that my actual Gamecube library is pretty small. A few of the games I did have I have either lost or now have on other systems (Prince of Persia, Metroid Prime, etc). I do have some solid titles but I know I'm missing some that I haven't experienced.

I have Star Fox Adventures & Assault, 007: Agent Under Fire and Everything or Nothing, Baten Kaitos, Star Wars Rogue Squadron III, Metal Gear Solid, The Sims: Bustin Out, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, and several WWE titles.

Good people help me, what am I missing?

Sorry for the two month delay responding to this!

Man, my Steam library is one of the largest in my backlog. It's a shame my laptop can't seem to run games as well as it used to. I was even getting slowdown playing Terraria full screen on my computer :/ Eventually I will build my own PC and then I can begin to steam roll my Steam library.

Yeah I have no qualms with the battle system. It at least has more strategic depth than FF VII. I think the main issue I had with FF XIII is it's pacing.

The first 10 hours are mostly tutorial. The next 15-20 hours or so are in the open world portion of the game and the last 10 put you back on a linear track. I think if they let you back track to previous areas sooner and maybe peppered in some incentives to explore past areas, the game would have been better as a whole.

It's why I really enjoyed FF XV's pacing: it starts out open and then funnels into a more linear direction in the last few chapters. However, they let you back track to different points of the story, allowing you to wrap up side quests you didn't complete earlier. This prevents players from being punished for wanting to continue the story. I honestly would love to draft a video discussing FF XIII in depth sometime.

Well, I was almost resigned into playing it on Wii U until I decided to just buy the game on Switch (needed to make use of the Amazon discount.) It took me about 3 weeks after that to actually snag the console and it's pretty worth it so far. Although I love my Wii U, I imagine more of it's library will be ported to the Switch, so you wouldn't have missed much.

I'll probably get to CSH soon, there's a lot of stuff I want to get to these next few days (Dragon Quest Heroes II, Wonder Boy Returns, Yooka Laylee, Dragon's Trap, Shinness). It does look pretty amazing, though. Much better than I thought it would, honestly. I'm quite glad it turned out so well.

I actually really enjoyed Murdered Soul Suspect (it was my first PS4 platinum trophy), and it's really a shame the dev went under and a sequel isn't likely at all, I really enjoyed the feel of the game, even if some parts could have been ironed out a little better and it could have used a minimap instead of the online digital map thing.

I have yet to play it (Or Yooka Laylee), I want to ideally finished Tales of Beseria first...but whether I'll actually do that or just play Yooka Laylee/etc may change. But it has all positive reviews on Steam, so I'd guess it's pretty great.

My cousin's PS4 is running low on space, but today the PS4 got external hard drive support finally (I got a 2TB external to add to my 4TB internal), so assuming he gets an external some time soon (or maybe I'll give him one of mine), we'll install stuff like Double Dragon IV, Mother Russia Bleeds, and Van Helsing, among other things. He only has a PS4 up there, and I usually bring my Retro Freak, but down here, the sky's the limit. I even recently got a PS VR and free CRT.

If you're tenacious enough, you can get through it maybe in a week or on a weekend. Like lots of roguelikes, you need to play a certain amount of each section to memorize enemy patterns and placement. It was really satisfying to beat, as the difficulty amps up a lot level to level. Now I'm stuck on Hard Mode as I still haven't figured out the rhythm of levels haha. They added quite a few newer enemies that chase you as you progress.

Honestly, the first time I tried to play XIII, I bought it Day 1 and put it down right when the game opens up for a bit. I was very underwhelmed. Then, I tried to play it again last year and went all the way to the end. I still don't like that the half the game is a tutorial but I eventually grew to enjoy XIII. The battle system is surprisingly more strategic than most variations of the ATB system, the music kicks ass and I think the game has really decent voice acting. I also liked that the linearity plays a huge role in the game's central themes. I think if XIII was structured more like XV, where the game starts out open, it would have been better received.

Which is why what you're saying about XIII-2 has me really optimistic. Crossing my fingers for some sort of big FF PS4 collection this year. Hopefully, I can clear my mountain of JRPGs so I can add XIII-2.

And totally empathize with you on Breath of the Wild. I've heavily been leaning towards getting it with a Switch but the lack of availability has been frustrating. If this continues to a ridiculous degree, I might break down and buy a Wii U copy.

Five people in my multiap with Breath of The Wild and a couple of real life friends with it as well, and me without being able to play it at all. Major bummer.
