Random Tidbits ▼

I'm naught but a humble gamer who likes to play games in his spare time. As you can clearly see I've amassed quite the collection over the years. I don't add to it as much as I did in the past but that's the fault of an over saturated market more than anything. I can be pretty selective about what I will and won't play.

I try my best to keep the collection up to date though I swear I miss a game from time to time. So many platforms to keep track of these days. Digital AND physical.

For those of you curious my main page icon is Kid from Chrono Cross. She's bar none one of my favorite gaming characters and if you're friends with me outside of Backloggery chances are you've seen my collection of 18 bajillion avatars.

As for the header it's currently Yukari Yakumo from the ever popular Touhou series. And lastly the quote at the bottom is said by Mario's eternal rival Bowser. The line itself is from Mario and Luigi 3: Bowser's Inside Story an awesome game for the NDS

Moving on here is what each icon denotes in my backloggery.

- This icon is for games that are collectors items only, ones that don't have a standard ending (IE they go on forever), or games that I've decided that I have no intention of ever getting around to either due to age or other factors.

- Haven't even seen the title screen. Pretty self explanatory.

- Credits have rolled and the game's main objective has been finished.

- This is a tricky icon for me. What I deem to be 100% varies on the game. Usually I consider all optional content, side quests, item pick ups (health, ammo, or otherwise), unlockables (characters, art gallery, ETC), and other % based shenanigans equaling out to 100%.

Trophies/achievements don't count because they have their own separate tracker and usually aren't tied into anything. I will only consider harder difficulties if they add things to the game itself rather than just soup up the enemies and give them more health and make them do more damage.

- This coveted icon only gets tacked onto games where I went above and beyond by either doing a challenge run of some kind or some other feat that isn't required to beat the game (No deaths, no continues, low % runs, ETC). You'll note that I have very few of these.

Lastly games marked as "other" (the purple vortex) are ROMs. I've cycled most of these out of my collection but a few remain. Mostly import titles that never came out here.

As far as * rankings are concerned I tend not to take the grading too seriously, but just for completions sake here's what they mean in my case.

0/0 - No rating, self explanatory yes?
1/5 - Awful, likely a broken game. Haven't had to give one of these out.
2/5 - Just plain bad, unfun, or poorly built. Few of these in here.
3/5 - Average, not bad but not great either. Still fun all the same.
4/5 - Excellent, if I had a really good time with a game chances are it's getting this score. Seems to be the average for most things I own.
5/5 - This score is generally reserved for my personal favorites or games that I simply can't get enough of. I try not to give these out too often but it's hard to resist sometimes.
