Pokemon Black has been fun so far! I only have 2 badges ~_~ 4th year university is killing me, I barely have time for anything other than homework and going to work sigh. I’ve played for about 5 hours but I’m enjoying it. I’m envious that you have 7 badges? Wish that were me! I’m assuming you must be enjoying it if you continued playing up to 7 badges though, right?

Either way, I feel that Pokemon can be so much better if Nintendo would just do something new with the series. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" only works for so long before the games start getting stagnant.

Don't get me wrong, I love Pokemon. But if they're just going to do the same thing over and over again with little to no improvement, then I feel like I just paid money for the exact same game I played the last few generations.

I personally think Pokemon's gotten stagnant after Ruby and Sapphire. Unlike the GameBoy and GBA Pokemon games, you're now required to do a lot of pointless grinding, which should never be in ANY RPG aside from final bosses and end game stuff.

Plus, the series still has so much untapped potential that Nintendo still hasn't used after ALL THESE YEARS.

I now consider Pokemon the Call of Duty of Japan.

Eh? Well, forms took a lot of Zero's standard skills from the first game and split them up. It would be nice if there were more _new_ skills involved. At least that's how it seems so far. (I got Rise, X and Active so far)

I haven't played that much. I'm having a bit of trouble with Phoenix Ma-jigger's stage; I've had to reset a lot 'cause I've gotta get that A/S-Rank. >.< So far I'm liking the game a lot more than the first one though.

I'm trying to build several teams. >.< It's a bit more ambitious an undertaking than I thought it would be -- especially if I'm going to EV train them all. But it gives me something to do while I try to fill my Pokedex. For now, the Manectric is probably going to fill the empty slot on my main team, replacing Ampharos -- not that my main team is really even being used for anything, any more. o___o

Ah yeah.. sounds much too painful to me. Especially as a programmer, who can attempt to guess at the underlying mechanisms.. @___@

I thought of a good nickname for an Arcanine. Call him Rush. Teach him ExtremeSpeed; then it's a pun, too. lol

Ah, I thought it was too simple; that's why I figured I must've done it wrong. It was pretty quick even without any Battle Frontier items. I thought about getting some of those, but I wanted to save them up to get that item dealy for evolving Sneasel.

Have you ever done that IV breeding/whatever thing? I hear it can take more than a month to get one good Pokemon. o___o

I bred the Electrike you sent me to get one who's Timid. (+SpAtk,-Atk) I fed him 10 Calciums and 10 Carbos (for 100 EVs of each, I think), then consulted a guide as to where to find good Pokemon for those EVs, slapped on a Macho Brace and did a bunch of grinding. (counting EVs is tricky -- a small loop in Python made it easier, though) His EV's are maxed by now -- the lady in Blackthorn gave him the ribbon and everything. So, in theory he should have a 252/252/6 distribution in SpAtk, Speed and HP... and, err, yeah. At the moment, he's only level 50 or so.

LOL yeah.. I'm probably not going to actually buy it for a little while, though. I wouldn't really have time to get much into it right now anyway. =/ Ah well.

LOL I actually just came from there. Caught all three. And evolved my Natu. ^__^ Nice tip, though; I'm glad I happened to go through Union Cave today.

I've also got about three badges. I'm kicking around between Ecruteak/Olivine/Mahogany, catching as many as I can find, and trying to get them evolved to add some numbers to my Pokédex. (Seen: 93/Obtained: 51)

I can't stop playing. It's so addicting. >__< I bought it yesterday and I ended up playing for like 6 and a half hours straight. x__x

I gave in and go HeartGold today as well. My primary is going to be SoulSilver, female trainer: Akiko, starter: Chikorita. HeartGold's going to be my secondary with male trainer: Saburo, starter Cyndaquil.

I have a lot of friends who got the games as well. We're gonna have so much fun playing the game together.

Holy crap it's better than I thought.

I especially love how walking in grass doesn't attract as much wild Pokemon as running does. Good if you want to avoid battles. Also, ANY Pokemon you put first in your lineup follows behind you! And you can still talk to them!

Yeah, I got my Wi-fi going a few weeks ago, the first thing I downloaded was Mega Man 9 (such a great game). I haven't had time to play Mega Man 10 yet, I've been too obsessed with Ace Attorney Investigations. But hopefully I'll have a chance to play it soon.

Thanks so much for the Pokemon info, I was disappointed when I found out Canadian Gamestop's were not giving out the Pichu, so I'm relieved to have it now (got it on D/P/Pt plus my brothers version of Pt haha). I remember trying to get Shaymin, but as you know, at the time I couldn't connect to anything. Oh well....from now on, it looks like I'll be able to access any of their mystery gift events! Thanks again.

That's nifty about the MegaMan Killers' weapons Of course Sakugarne would've been nice, too. Then again MegaMan II was the only one of the GB MegaMan's I've played to the end, so I don't really know. Ah well.

And Roll as a boss was a silly idea anyway.. It would've been different, but from what I gather Capcom doesn't like being different anyway.

Is there a crash barrier weapon that works basically the same as Protoman's shield? (like Jewel Satellite in MM9)

Some of the challenges in MMPU were pretty fun. They had some crazy impossible stuff, though. (Boss marathons on Hard Mode still scare me... >.<

I see you've beaten the game, so I take it the whole "Roll as a boss" thing didn't happen either... Ah well. And that's too bad about Quint, but I can't say I'm surprised by that either.

Is Protoman's shield actually usable this time, or does it still only trigger when you jump? I'm guessing not, but ah well.

Replaying Boss battles is cool. Are these "tests" anything like the Challenges from Powered Up? (that I never finished doing >.< Those were fun..

I'm not sure why they're spreading out the releases. It seems like they really market this mostly as a WiiWare thing, what with the whole original games being Nintendo or something like that. Why PS3 gets it before 360 is anyone's guess.

I looked up the secret character this morning. I can't say I'm really surprised, but I am disappointed. Ah well.

Does Protoman have an actual storyline this time?
