Don't worry mate. Even though the consoles are different in terms of looks, the hard drive they use have the same dimensions. So the old HD will fit perfectly on the new one.

The only way that i know of is to plug the HD to your PC. Then copy all the data into the primary HD. Its a bit risky but can't think of anything else.... Sorry mate. Thanks for replying to my post buddy. Hope you get you ps3 fixed soon

hi mate, very sorry to hear that your ps3 died... But can you please tell me how long have you been using the ps3 before you got this error? Just want to know before buying one. Also is it a fat model one? Thanks and my condolences to your ps3

if you the ps3 is still under the warranty period you might be able to get it fixed, but remember to back up your HD before sending it for repairs because i heard that the HD gets formatted in the process.
