Haha, that's kind of a relief, to be honest.
For some reason, it made me angry that a game that was referencing Metroid was also mixing memes with it even though it's an irrational emotion to have.
But you say the game was good, so yeah I'm relieved that it was a worthy love letter.
(plus I just remembered videogames these days are including memes into their dialogues anyway so)
