Managed to get lucky and unlocked Artoria in one attempt. I'm glad that worked out okay.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath
Haven't felt real motivated to play this lately, as I'm sort of burned out for now. But will someday commit again.

Also, while I'm not sure if I'll ever dive into doing online matches with people, I have been trying to practice with Erron Black lately since I want to main with him. He seems like a lot of fun to use for me and I'd love to get better with him. Maybe someday I'll feel more ready to try Kombat League, but I don't know.

Yeah it blew my teenage mind the day I found out KoF was in itself kind of a SNK All-stars game. I grew up on KoF and had no idea that Ralf and Clark were supposed to be the Ikari Warriors from days of old.

I can understand that. I remember how frustrated I was just trying to figure Mednafen out, haha, but it's worth the hassle when you get it running. That emulator supports other CD-based consoles, too, like TurboGrafx CD. I'd try finding a good tutorial on YouTube, if there is one. This thread's kinda old, but it's still pretty relevant. [Link] Hope you're able to figure it out, sometime!

I've been using the mednafen emulator through RetroArch, actually, and it works great! RetroArch can certainly be a pain to figure out, though, if you're new to it, since it's a frontend for many different emulators. With PS1 emulators in general, you'd need the BIOS file to get games to run, but it's pretty simple otherwise

I'm legit terrible at fighting games, but with the recent ones having story modes I'm interested in I still wanna play them. So, I'm torn between "playing right" and just cheating to get through it.

Ikuto is still the worst dungeon for me to route properly. Confusing as heck, even with the hintbook.

I have some fond memories of my friend at the time coming over to my house with his Mega Drive, and playing this game for hours on end. One time he left the Mega Drive overnight for me to do some last minute grinding and find the rest of the ultimate equipment. Couldn't sleep that night one wink. Just woke up real early and continued the grind til he came over again that day and we beat the friggin game!

PSIII gets a bad rap, it's still a fundamentally great game. I really enjoy the fantasy-heavy setting, and the soundtrack, of course, but some stuff like the finger waggling/nose twitching attacks for some enemies is unintentionally funny. Could have used a few more months in development to be sure. I would like to find the time to play through series again via the excellent Sega Ages 2500 Vol.32 collection.

God, that dam music! PSII soundtrack's excellent, that track in particular (Promised Mystery ~ Hidepipe) has always been one of my top picks!

well i had to play something in anticipation of FF7R (especially after playing the demo. it was really good!). it should really speak volumes when the genuine highlight of this entire game (so far) is a 2 minute phone conversation between Vincent and Tifa, Barret, and Cloud. it's not like award-winning writing by any stretch but it's the most reasonable writing the game has presented and it's nothing more than fanservice at best, but it also highlights how god awful conversations/character interactions are in this game because fuck if they're not natural in the slightest.

that said overall i would consider Dirge...passable. kind of garbage as a spinoff/sequel to FFVII, but the core game itself is actually pretty solid and I can maybe see myself playing this again in the future...possibly.

Yeah, unfortunately gacha games never end, and usually when I commit to a game, I really sink my time into it. I'll be giving up my other gacha game in a few months.

I really enjoyed the writing and characters in FGO, so I'm sad to go, but I want to put some time into other games on my backlog. Was planning to stay until Skadi, but I figure it's cleaner to cut now before Lost Belt. If I start, I just might want to stay until the end of LB I'll log in to throw the rest of my SQ at the Skadi banner, if I remember to.

Won't forget the help your supports provided me when I was a still a fledgling FGO player; I was intimidated by the game at first but some of your guys helped me through some tight spots.
