Hehe, Devil Survivor is great! But, heck, it's one of the hardest games I've played recently. Had a lot of ragequits through my first playthrough. >_< But it was a fun experience overall and plan on beating all the five routes. :P

And about japanese menus, it's not that hard, especially when you actually possess some knowledge on the language. I've become quite used to play games in japanese by now, and even cleared some while still getting what the plot is about and most of details, so no problems so far at all. xD

By the way, seeing your list just reminded me how much I want to play Persona 4, but I've read a lot on the interwebz that 3 is way better. As a newcomer to the series, which game do you recommend I play first? O:

So how's Eternal Sonata?
I've been reading pretty negative reactions from some forum I'm on, but sometimes I think they're just like to complain.

haha, yep! On livejournal all my friends were raving about how awesome ToV was for awhile and how it was way better than Abyss. I mean, I had fun playing ToV. Mostly. But I'm with you, Abyss had an awesome storyline, and ToV was just kinda... blah, to me. There didn't even seem to be much of a real storyline at first? And the only ToV characters I liked were Rita, Judith, Raven, Belius, sometimes Flynn, and the Duke, whereas I loved freaking everybody in ToA except for Anise so, I felt kind of left out because I couldn't really agree with them |D

Aw, thank you!

I meant to take it down after Halloween but I couldn't bring myself to

And it's nice to see someone who feels somewhat the way I do about Vesperia. Most of the people I know like ToV better than ToA, I was feeling a bit alone

Persona 4 makes everything wonderful~

I probably found P2 on piratebay. It's been a while, but that sounds about right. You'll need an emulator for the Playstation to get it to work, though. Good luck searching!

I am impressed..

You actually played Nocturne up to the point of the Dante battle..

After losing a battle which took about an hour of my time, I lost motivation. I wandered all over the large map all the way to the Nihilism headquarters to see the maiden but was denied entry, then I wandered all the way into the sewers, did all the necessary things there, then decided to go back to Loki's place to grab the treasure which was needed to advance the story. I beat the guardian and tons of demons on my way there. The next thing, I lost to Loa, a low-ranking demon just one step before making it onto the stairs outside. So close, yet so far.. It spamed tons of criticals which gave them so many extra press-turns to the point that I only had like 2-3 turns when they got 15+ turns. Anyways, good luck fighting Dante!!!

Don't worry about the long posts.. Sorry for the late reply, my old laptop died and I had to get a new one. This wasted 48 hours...

About your questions, well..

Ar tonelico is pretty much ADV+RPG but considering that you haven't played it before. I got to tell you that ADV in Japan is definitely not the same thing as typical adventure games in the United States or Europe. It is pretty much a dating sim visual novel with added rpg elements, similar to Mana Khemia and Atelier Iris series. Only differences is that it features visual novel element which is like CLANNAD, except it is quite linear meaning that you don't get to make much choices except the path you choose. There are a few main heroines in the game and you can choose to have a happy ending all by yourself or with one of the girls. I haven't played Ar tonelico yet, even though I had bought the game for 50 bucks as soon as it arrived at a local store I always visited. I had tested the disc out and found that the Japanese audio loads somewhat sluggish, while the English audio is perfectly fine, not mentioning that the cutscenes are in English audio only. The gameplay is slightly sluggish at the beginning but it will improve as soon as the game gets pass the prologue. I had saved game on the first save spot, so I don't know much about the story of Ar tonelico but I am a few hours into the sequel and its awesome! I am currently heading to Chroche-sama's route, still on Phase 1. I think you should give it a try, because it is a great game. However, I got to tell you that NISA made a serious mistake while producing the game, so there is a fatal glitch in Ar tonelico 2 in which one of the boss battles will freeze if you can't beat her within 3 turns. This can be quite problematic, unless you are skilled enough to beat her within a turn or two, which is also quite possible depending on your amount of grinding.

As for Devil Summoner, its actually Devil Summoner 3 and Devil Summoner 4 in Japan but since the first two games weren't released in the States or Europe, the numbers became 1 and 2. Generally, it is better to beat Devil Summoner before Devil Summoner 2, but it is not necessary. I haven't beat it yet..
