Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
All right, I finished VLR a couple of days ago!

Anyways, it's really hard to give an opinion on a game that relies heavily on story without spoiling things...or being biased from my point of view. I'll say this though - it's much more expansive than 999 (probably because of all the room on the 3DS card), and there are aspects that streamline a lot of the process because it's so massive (there's the addition of a flowchart so you can jump around and pick where in the plot you'd like to go to, so you don't have to replay the all the puzzle rooms you did before every time you want to go for a new ending, etc.). Storywise, it takes a lot of aspects introduced in 999 and expands on them heavily.

Anyways, there's opinions that are all over the map on which game is better, but the general consensus is that it's an excellent game, go get it, etc.! Which is also my general opinion!

A few things to note if you do get the game: there is a save bug that can corrupt your entire save if you save during specific puzzle rooms...most people say to avoid saving during puzzle rooms in general. Also, if you solve "extra credit" puzzles you can unlock bits of a glossary under a "Secret" tab in your menu, but those glossary entries, even the titles of them, can be VERY spoilery for the story, so don't read them until you beat the game! Also don't watch the intro movie, too (since it recycles like almost all the special cutscenes from the game), but if you already did, that's fine. =w=

I'm glad to have informed you! :D Now you have even more to be excited about!

And yeah, I knew about the whole "skipping stuff you replayed"...mostly because I had been feverishly trying to find a way to up the text speed in the game when I started it orz

Yes, I finally did! :D Mostly because a) I'm at college and don't have my consoles anymore and b) the "sequel" was announced so I figured I'd better get to it. :I It was actually next on my DS list (chronological by US release date) and I'm enjoying it so far! Except the text speed, it makes my brain slow down. :B
There's nothing to look at here, man. Scroll back up!
