Dawg, how's VJ comin? I'm thinkin another small game day hangout is on order soon...though I know that's probably super tough with school. Maybe a lazy Sunday? A late Friday? Lemme know whatchu could do homie. I've had such a blast the past couple times, so we gotta keep that up, if only once a month or so.
Do you want to borrow a controller? I should have asked..I have two perfectly functioning PS2 controllers and I don't play multiplayer on it much. Or maybe by this time you've already got one whoops
Was Sleeping Dogs the one where you can mess with peoples electronics in an open world? Or I'm thinking about something else? It sounds pretty cool...MGS was really my first foray into a world of third-person "serious" story gun-wielding type games...which reminds me at video game night we had a super super late discussion going on about how to categorize games, ie. if the system of genres we use and have been using is truly adequate in describing what kinds of experiences make WoW different from Final Fantasy, or Portal from Killzone, or Killzone from WoW, etc.
[Link] <----that video was the impetus that made me want to start the discussion and I wonder if you'd thought about this much, or talked about it in school or anything. We can have our own discussion sometime it's stuff I'm very interested in.
Oh yeah and I was going to mention about Sleeping Dogs that you said it had DLC...another topic that came up in our late discussion. I am kinda sorta torn on DLC...but I'd love to gather your thoughts on that too, so maybe we're in order for a big game night/chatting sesh?
I know what you mean about getting spoiled on such good games. Not everyone is willing to slog through each game, but I find that my personality is such that no matter how much a game experience waxes or wanes in enjoyment for me, I want to push myself to see it's end and at least have a fully formed opinion about it. I used to never be like that, but after 3 years of doing it that way...that's just how I am. On the whole I find most games to be 'good' experiences, maybe not brilliant but rarely even terrible or mediocre. Since I don't do like AVGN and seek out shit games and I try to find games I know some people like and that interest me, I think that's why I generally have those mostly positive feelings toward games.
Not saying slog through the shit though!
