Merry Christmas! Hope you got lots of crap, that you'll never use. And I mean that in the nicest way possible. I couldn't think of anything I wanted this year, so I just asked my parents to surprise me. Ended up with a surround sound system, some new weight training equipment, and a pretty sick pair of fingerless gloves. Dunno why, but I've always though fingerless gloves are awesome lol. I don't watch much TV or movies so I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of the surround sound system, but at least it will give me an excuse to rewatch Pacific Rim and Gurren Lagann lol.

Awesome, can't wait for the next Zone demo. And I'm still eagerly awaiting the next episode of Cyberspace 2.0. It's been so long since the last one, I've forgotten most of the story, but I know it involved Nyan Cat and some robot zebras. Looking forward to the thrilling conclusion.

That's a nice list of games for your birthday. Glad Sonic Boom 3DS turned out better than you expected, even though the emblem system sounds kinda screwy. And yeah I'd noticed the respawn / invincibility glitch in the demo. That bugged me too. I probably still won't buy the game, but glad you enjoyed it... for the most part lol. Did you get the Wii U version for Christmas?

Okay I know what you're thinking. "You forgot my birthday! After all we've been through together! I thought what we had was special! You're dead to me now!" Well for starters, if that's really what you're thinking, that's a bit disturbing. Second, I didnt forget... exactly... okay I completely forgot. In fact if Facebook hadn't reminded me, I probably still wouldn't have remembered lol. And since I'm writing from my sub-par phone right now, I cant even whip up a cheap animation or 2 second game for you. So for now, I guess a simple "Happy Birthday" will have to do. Yeah I saw about the new crossover comic a few days ago. Looks like it could be pretty cool. It'll be great to see the normal Sonic crew freak out when they meet their Boom counterparts (especially Knuckles lol). And adding Mega Man X is always a good thing. Now I really need to buy Worlds Collide, since I still haven't read it yet...

Anyway I really haven't been up to much lately. Just working and getting ready for Christmas. And I made a new piece of Iron Man armor... but it's not wearable this time. It's a Christmas stocking lol [Link]
Sadly it didn't turn out quite as nice as my gauntlet from Halloween. I guess spray paint doesn't like cold weather too much, because it turned out looking kinda cloudy and hazy instead of metallic. I can repaint it when warmer weather comes around, but for now it's not quite what I was hoping for.

Thank you. It's still hard to believe she's gone. When my grandpa died it hit me like a ton of bricks, but with my grandma, it's like it never really sunk in. It's a strange feeling.

I'm actually the opposite over Sonic Boom. The live reading gave me fairly high hopes for it lol. Anyway I cringed all the way through episodes 3 and 4, but I kind of enjoyed 5 and 6. Knuckles' dumbness seems a bit over-the-top, but he gave me a few chuckles anyway lol. And yeah I've read the Boom reviews and heard all the comparisons to 06. Some people are even calling it Sonic 14 lol. Looks like another pass for me. If I ever find it cheap after I inevitably buy a Wii U I might pick it up, just for the heck of it. The 3DS demo didn't impress me at all though.

Also, you may or may not recall when I was trying to build up the courage to ask out a girl at work a couple months back. Well a few weeks ago, one of my coworkers (who I'd never discussed my dilemna with) confronted me about it and said I should ask her out, because he thought she obviously liked me. He was a bit surprised when he realized that I liked her all along lol. So after he persuaded me a bit more, I finally summoned every shred of my courage, caught her alone, and asked her out...

and she said she has a boyfriend. Talk about soul-crushing lol. Although she also said "but we can still hang out if you want." I thought she was just being nice so I wouldn't feel completely rejected, but my mom seemed to think that was girl-speak for "I like you more than my boyfriend so I'll go out with you anyway." Of course, that seemed absurd... but that night, the girl wrote me on Facebook and basically said the same thing again, and said she was flattered I asked her out and she hoped I never stopped showing interest. That left me really confused. Obviously I couldn't continue flirting with her if she had a boyfriend, since that would just be wrong (and I'd probably get my teeth punched out lol). So I figured I'd just play it cool, and maybe she'd break up with her boyfriend so I could make another move.

Well, about a week later, I cleverly deduced the identity of her boyfriend (thanks to someone mentioning him on her Facebook wall). But a few days after that, I noticed that she and her boyfriend were no longer Facebook friends, and all traces of him has been erased from her page. So now I'm thinking they may have broken up after all. Plus, she has written me a few times since I asked her out, and she still sits with me at work when we're on break. But she hasn't said anything new to confirm or deny if she still has a boyfriend, so I don't know what to do at this point. I wish she'd just make it easy and be like "By the way, I'm single again ". But oh well. I'll figure it all out eventually lol.

Sorry it's taken me a while to answer. My grandmother (on my mom's side of the family) passed away last Monday. She had been in and out of the hospital a lot over the past couple months for various minor reasons (mainly her broken ankle and wrist), but toward the end, her kidneys started shutting down and the doctors weren't really sure why. A few days before she died, she seemed perfectly fine. It's just so sad that she's gone. We usually spend our Thanksgiving and Christmas at her house, so it won't be the same from now on. Hopefully the rest of our family will still gather on certain occasions, so we don't fall out of touch with each other. But yeah it's just been a long week.

Brotherhood sounds pretty good. I'd only heard of Fullmetal Alchemist, but I never had a clue what it's about. I'll have to check that out sometime. And yeah I saw Sonic Boom as well. Honestly neither episode was as good as I'd hoped, but I think maybe the animation is to blame for that. The characters' expressions often seem a bit... off, compared to the voices. Like, they look really uninterested, even if they happen to be screaming or happy about something. A good example is when Amy auditions for the sidekick role. As she's singing at the top of her lungs and juggling, she looks like she's half asleep. Also, the mouth movement and lip syncing kind of sucks. But yeah that's my major gripe. My brother watched both episodes after I did, and when I heard just the audio, it actually seemed more entertaining without the bad animation bogging it down. Regardless, I'll watch the rest of the series just to see what it's like lol.

Anyway I've not been up to much lately. Like I said, this past week has been a bit of a downer. Halloween was okay. I wore my Iron Man gauntlet to work and got some good reactions, but very few people noticed it. There were at least three people who didn't notice the gauntlet until 4+ hours into my shift lol. But it was fun anyway.

Yeah I saw the new trailers as well. It's still weird to see normal Shadow amongst the redesigned Boom characters. I keep expecting him to have a cowboy hat or something lol. And yeah the mind-reading robot bit gave me a good laugh too. Anyway I'll definitely have to check out both those anime sometime. They sound great.

Jack Woolls eh? Wasn't he in a couple of obscure PC games a couple years ago? Interesting choice for a costume, but I'd go as Ethan Wake if I were you. At least he's a bit more recognizable, and chicks dig the curly hair and glasses. But it's funny that Halloween isn't a big deal over there. It's still a couple weeks off, but a bunch of people are already preparing for it here. We've been selling candy at work like there's no tomorrow.

I had considered that the boxes may have been mixed up. I did a bit of research and it turns out 7GG Solid Mechas can transform into sweater-like armor to make them easier to carry around when not in use. To activate the mech form, the wearer has to shout Henshin, or It's Morphin Time, or something like that. So all I have to do is keep an eye out for someone wearing a very heavy, clunky metallic sweater, and ask them to trade for one of my plain boring sweaters.

Nice that you got Smash Bros. I bought it a week ago, but then my brother went away for a few days and took the 3DS with him, so I didn't really get to play it myself until a couple days ago lol. It's pretty good though. It's basically like having Brawl on a handheld, but with some new characters. Probably would have made more sense just to name it SSB Brawl Plus, but ah well. I've been clearing a lot of challenges as well, and I've yet to try all the characters, but I have played as Shulk, Pac-Man, Sonic, and Mega Man. So far I think Pac-Man is actually my favorite third-party character. Shulk's Art Switching is a nice concept, but I would have preferred to have B as a secondary attack button instead. Mega Man seems kind of gimped; his Leaf-Shield is almost worthless, and his only cool-looking attack (in my opinion) in the Charge Shot. And Sonic is still Sonic, but I've already been there, done that lol. Anyway we need to have a battle sometime. It's been a good while since we played against each other.

Holy guacamole... that is the most incredible X-related item I've ever seen. I love that they made him look like an actual robot for a change. If the price if reasonable, I'm definitely getting one.

So at Sonic Boom (the event) the cast of Sonic Boom (the TV show) read bits and pieces of their scripts from the show, and they're surprisingly hilarious. The only cringe-worthy stuff is from Sticks, so that's better than I was expecting lol. [Link]
