Well, I just beat MGS2 Sons of Liberty and you are right, the plot get seriously crazy yet I find it really, really good and kind of accurate regarding many things that are happening now.

The game play, as you said, was vastly improved and even if it takes some time to get used to it (at the beginning I had a very difficult time trying to get the dog-tags from the soldiers) it is really fun.

Next is going to bee Sneake Eater, but I'll take a little break before that in order to well absorb what happened in Sons of Liberty. Where are you in your marathon? have you played Snake Eater?

Haha, that's great! Metal Gear is a series that got my attention after I kind of accidentally got a PS4 with MGS V Phantom Pain. Infiltration games are not my thing since I like to go berserk, haha, but I'm having so much fun with that game that I decided to play the others as well... and I'm having tons of fun.

The first two Metal Gear for the MSX are cool to play but it takes time to get used to the controls. The first one is quite basic and it may seem difficult at first but once you get use to it, you can storm the game in just a couple of hours. The second one, oh dear, that one is really good, if you are patient enough to get used to the controls I highly recommended it, it is one of the best 8 bit games I've ever played.

What about you? what motivated you to do the marathon? have you played Metal Gear games before? How did you find Sons of Liberty? I'm like 4 hours in and I'm having fun with the story twists.

Yeah, you should be proud of beating MegaMan without much trouble, even if using the pause trick against (I used it too ;p) the Cyclops.

I have also been in a Megaman marathon myself, I've been beating the games that I didn't beat when I was a kid: Megaman 4, MM5 and MM6, so far so good, I really enjoyed 4 and 5 and I'm gonna play 6 soon.

Yet 3 remains my favourite, I dunno why they took the slide out of 9 and 10, oh well!

Hey! congratulation on achieving such a titanic achievement that is the Final Fantasy marathon! I've just noticed it and I must say that I'm well impressed (great banner to celebrate it btw)

Very interesting Final Fantasy ranking there!!
I can see why FFIX is number one, for me it is also one of the best... yet on my list that wonderful game occupies the second place just after FFVI =p
I can tell that many people might get surprised if they see FFXIII on second place, but contrary to popular belief and hate, FFXIII is an awesome game that exposes once again what is the philosophy behind each FF... changes and evolution. You sir, you seem to understand that
FFX is number three, well that's another interesting surprise there, you prefer it over FFVII, humm that may disturb the fanboys out there too, haha =) But to be honest, I dunno if I would say the same... FFX is one of those FF that I haven't played multiple times in order to make a more concise idea about the game and compare it to FFVII, perhaps you may want to share the reason why you put those games in that order?
For the rest of the list I think that mine wouldn't be too different, only that FFVI would be first ;p
I do agree that FFIV goes first than FFXII and ofc FFV... FFV is perhaps my less favourite FF game.

Great list! We may discuss it more in detail if you want! see ya!

Nice banner, by the way!

Yep, I think that you have enough material for making something interesting. Your FF marathon is still fresh in your head and you have a good analytic eye, so it would be worth it. Like that, the enormous amount of time expending playing those great games wont go to waste and people may also want to share with you their own experiences. =)

I think you may not let your marathon experience to waste and write something about it, an article perhaps, after all you have been in playing the FF games almost non stop for like a year.

Also what you say about the games that you have played is interesting and it may nice to share your thoughts about your marathon with other players, what do you think?

Yes this Marathon is going to be quite lengthy. But since I've got the ball rolling it seems like I'll be able to get this done before the end of the year. :P

And thanks, I have a different banner for each game I play. :P

Humm, I wouldn't say that FF VI is a grindfest. It may seems so because of the great number of characters that you can recruit, but a party level 45-50 can beat the last boss.

Maybe your friend was talking about the magic skills that you learn when you attach a sper to a character. But to be honest, by the end of the game your main party will know every spell you need without really having to go grinding, the kills are meant to be learned fast so spers can circulate more fluently between the characters.

Just a tip, try to learn Ultima as soon as it is possible in the game, that's the real deal when talking about destructive spells.

FFVI will gladly impress you.

OMG. What you said on Fleong's dialogue box about the final boss. Holy guacamole. When I beat the never-ending story that is Final Boss I absolutely felt like THE BEST PLAYER THAT EVER LIVED.

Can you believe that I didn't know for the final super-sayan Jaster sequence that I COULDN'T jump? OMG. Took me like.. three tries to kill that asshole.

Hey buddy! long time without talking to you! how are ya?

About Rogue Galaxy... so far so good, I've only played like 10h or so and I like the game. The gameplay is quite rich and the combat system is very dynamic too. The only thing that I'm not liking about the game is the story. Sadly, it seems that the writer(s) of the game where happy but just throwing conventional situations and clichés in a piece of paper in order to make their job done. It's sad, because the gameplay is really good and it deserved a less generic story.

The game seems very long, I hope the pace will be just right. I don't mind playing a long game, I just spent 120h in DQ9 that I still play, but the game experience should feel rewarding, I hope that's the case with Rogue Galaxy... but I have faith in Level 5 ;p

What do you think about it buddy?

When you get you further into the game, you will be able to switch your party characters. In the beginning, as the game focus more into each character story and background you cannot customize your party yet, but at some point you will be able do to it and the game becomes more fun.

I'm glad you are enjoying FF XIII so far. I did like that game despite its flaws and the controversial reviews. At least it has a better pace than FFV.

FF XIII is very nice, I hope you will like it when you get more into it.
