Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
Thank You! And a belated Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!

Suikoden II and Earthbound are probably the two games I paid the most for. I picked up Earthbound for $100, so that was a bit higher than normal. I would say those are the only two that exceeded $100. I've bought some $60-$80 games, but those aren't too bad. Thankfully, I was a little ahead of the curve regarding the SNES & PS1 RPG's.

Ah yes, the closet and under the bed are great places to store games. On this Retro Gaming Forum I belong to, they were talking about collecting and housing your games. Somebody made an astute observation regarding the differences between collecting and hoarding. Once the games are hidden away and you cannot show them off, then you begin treading into hoarding territory. I am right at that tipping point. The house would be ideal as I'd love to have a specific room dedicated to my game shelves.

Yeah, most of your years, you ended positively, which is a very good goal. And plus, you only have to beat 3 games, so that is very doable in a months time. Mega Man X, Contra III, Street Fighter II, Super Metroid, Dragon Quest Swords, Undertale, Maniac Mansion, LotR: Two Towers, Ecco & Banjo Kazooie are all that you could beat in about a Month or so. But, none of that really matters if you are busy in your real life! Hopefully, you can find some time before the end of the year.

I really want to beat my 3 Now Playing RPG's by the end of the year. I'm near the end in all of the them, but they all take a while. My goal is to clean out my Now Playing before my first ever New Year Cookie Marathon.

Right Hand of Bak'laag: 1000+ unfinished games

Confused: Playing 10+ games at once
Thanks! It's been a long road to reach that point... could be another 5-10 years before I finally reach 1,000, but I'll be here for as long as it takes.

Okay, I'm glad I didn't go into specifics. I hate spoiling things for people... I sometimes even consider disappointing aspects of a game to be a spoiler, so I regret what I said now. Just be sure to watch the trailers before playing the game! They're part of the experience, and the lead up to that game was just something else, with how shrouded in mystery it was. The crazy fan theories before the game released was one of the best things about it.

Actually, the only beetle location that isn't random is the last one. The first has two (front door / 2nd floor drawer) the second has three (children's room desk / statues / bookshelf), while the third has three... (disc 2 entrance / water fountain / knight room) though, a friend of mine says he's also seen it in the telescope room... never happened to me once, across all versions... like 10+ playthroughs.

Yeah, I had a lot of fun running D2, it's such a great speed game! I'll probably end up going for a sub- 2 hour run next, maybe for the JP version since I just got a hold of a JP Dreamcast, along with a copy of it.

As for Enemy Zero, I did a pseudo speedrun of it, but it was more of a challenge run, so I didn't keep track of my time. It was a no save-hard mode run, and probably the most intense fucking thing I've ever done in a game. You'll understand how difficult it can be when you play it for yourself... I'm going to be doing it a couple more times with the US/JP Saturn versions just for the hell of it.

Yep! It's probably the most interesting gaming related interview I've ever read. Oyaji Hunter Mahjong was definitely a weird one... all of the cutscenes are up on YouTube in a single video, so you don't have to get through the game to see them. Kenji Eno not only got Michael Nyman, but also Ichiro Itano (The animator of Macross) to do the cutscenes in Oyaji Hunter Mahjong.

Yeah, it really depresses me... if any game creator deserved more recognition, it was him. When he passed, he was in the middle of development of a game called "KakeXun", which was to be an abstract game about creating a world out of... mathematics? I think? It's hard to get a grasp on what exactly it plays like through the few videos that were released of it online, but it looked to be a mobile game. He still had many ideas before he passed, and his team (renamed to Warp2 after his death) picked KakeXun back up, launched two different fundraising campaigns; one in Japan which was a big success, and one in the US, which was a failure. After that, they have yet to be heard from again. I don't know if it will ever happen, now. Some of the backer rewards included chibi-like figurines of all three Lauras, and a fourth one of Kenji Eno. I still don't have a clue if those figures were actually released or not. Not even once have I seen one for sale, but you were meant to 3D print them yourself.

The cancelled D2M2 is an interesting one. The story sounded so bizarre, and just what I'd expect from Eno... there's still a chance for at least the demo disc to be preserved. They're out there somewhere. It's unknown exactly how many of them are out there, but one did pop up on Yahoo Auctions a few years ago for about $3000... though, it did also include an M2 console, so just the stand alone disc would probably be significantly less. I cannot fathom why someone would spend that much, without the intention of preservation. All I want is for one of the most interesting lost pieces of video game history to be preserved.

I love my longbox, and I'll never give it up. Next up, is D's Diner: Director's Cut... I haven't had any luck whatsoever finding a near mint complete copy of it, either. Literally every copy on eBay/Yahoo Auctions is either missing something, has a store sticker, or has too much damage. Wish me luck!
The greater the difficulty, the more glory in surmounting it.
