Adding a note here: I'd like to earn more games, so I've made a list of ones currently just that I'll start next year, one a month to go for a leisurely pace. I'll edit the order eventually.

Normally I have a theme ready for the year gaming wise, but this years theme will be:

Literally whatever I can play as I wont have time to hardly do anything. Expect a very slow year on this end either buying or playing.

Some closing 2021 rambling.

I'm intending to sell a lot of my once-valued collection. The allure of a huge collection of owned games is pretty much gone for me, and as my priorities begin to shift in life, I'm looking to unload the games that I doubt I'll ever return to in favor of either a digital back up or just complete unloading to the local used games store.

I love games, but I realized that keeping this large collection didn't make me happy. Upon getting a house and setting everything up, I realized that many of these games were just sitting around like they were before, albeit not in a box. I got to design a room with many leftover gaming posters as a sort of man-cave, but seeing the sheer amount of games I'll never actually play again was just a bummer and I knew deep down that I could transform them into something I'd be more passionate a bout (by way of music making).

In an age where we can make anything an emulator or a MISTer, I found that idea lot more enticing. The games I will keep physically are the ones that mean something to me, a small curated collection that I'll look at with a smile knowing I'll revisit them rather than a larger collection that I'd wonder if I'd ever even touch again. Like in all the years I ever have them, I never thought something like "Boy, I should replay Madworld again" or other middling titles I kept for the sake of having a large collection.

Going forward, I will continue to prune the games I don't care for anymore, and utilizing emulators with large memory storage to keep the lesser games in a more convenient location. Any games kept will be ones that I enjoyed greatly or have a fond remembrance of.
