Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
I've finished the game a few years ago, before I had a backloggery account and I remember, that this scene gave me a weird feeling that no other game ever repeated. Killer 7 is really something completely unique in gameplay and subject matter. Even the other games from Suda51, most of which i've played or replayed in the last few months, can't compare to it.

Before you play TSA I would recommend that you play at least through "The Silver Case", so you get an understanding of the themes from the "Kill the Past - Games". Like I said in my last post, TSA is a game about Suda's and Grasshopper Manufactures history as creators, so it is mainly for fans. And with fans I'm not talking about blind fanboys/girls who would buy any Suda Game and claim its great no matter what, I'm talking about people who would care about an introspection into the ups and downs of game-making for specifically that company/game designer. Otherwise the game could feel like a random assortment of references and weird circumstances.

Of course I don't want to do any gatekeeping and you don't have to write a dissertation on the guy to enjoy the game. Just a little advice to avoid disappointment.

I did like Travis Strikes Again, but I don't know if I would recommend it. I like Gauntlet, so I didn't have a problem with TSA's gameplay, besides, the older No More Heroes Games had pretty repetitive gameplay as well.
When it comes to the Story, the game relies on quite a few references to Suda51's older titles, so you better know them, or you are left wondering who all those characters are, that show up constantly in the visual novel sections of the game.
There is a strong theme of family throughout the game and it seems to be a pretty personal trip through Suda's history as a creator ( there is even a reference to the Manga "Kurayami Dance" which he wrote ).
I never asked for a No More Heroes 3, since I think Travis Story was pretty much concluded, but I wanted a new game directed by Suda, which is what I got. Hopefully Grasshopper Manufacture will not abandon the Switch due to the games bad reception.
If you are on the fence, if you should buy it, then maybe wait for a price drop. To me, it was worth the 40 Euro that I payed ( retail copy with dlc ), but i'd say that 20 Euro or Dollar might be more acceptable. It might take 10 hours for a casual playthrough, or 15-20 if you want to get everything and beat it on the highest difficulty.

Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
It is my first time with PoP 2008. While I like the characters and the movement sections, I think the fights are a bit too long and boring. I just fought the concubine 5 times and now it seems like I have to fight just as often in every other area of the game. I would have probably already beaten the game, if it was only running and jumping, but the fighting drains my motivation a bit.

Master of Unlocking: Majority of games are completed
Yeah, I love Mafia too, it's my third time through the game. I suppose that isn't excessive in more than 15 years. I really enjoy the cars in the game, it features such an unusual era for games to cover. Also presents an unusual challenge: such as those earliest cars that can barely climb up a hill or the difficulty in handling many of the cars. I wasn't originally planning to, but I did end up playing through Mafia II as well. I actually didn't realize that Mafia III was so close to release until just yesterday, I've managed to hype myself up.

Congrats on getting through Mafia II yourself.

The story was too short. I was playing against level 31 players at level 6 in multiplayer. And when I reached level 25 or so I got stuck because of the difficulty of finding people to play with you in high level strikes. I shouldn't need to buy a mic just to essentially play quests.

Are you ready for huge amounts of trekking back and forth across a single highway? General Knoxx DLC for Borderlands can die in a fire! A total time waster with no fast travel the far points that take many minutes to get to and require multiple trips. Zombie Island was the only BL DLC I really enjoyed.

I don't really see the "bad end" of it. The death beam grants me massacre bonuses and it gives the mobs sweet oblivion. Where's the "bad end"?

Sleep: Not playing anything
No kidding man! I felt a bit of perverse pride when my Steam "games owned" badge rolled over to 100+, I didn't know if it could go higher. Then I saw someone with 250+ and found the Pile threads and it sobered me up a little. One thing at a time, that's all I'll say...

It can be frustrating. But oddly enough, in spite of that experience, I would say it is a good addition to the game. It adds yet another element to that ever present danger and suspense that you wouldn't get otherwise. And it is very gratifying to kill an invader. And of course it makes it more challenging.

I ended up saving 1-4 for last, actually. To me, it felt like the final stage, so I saved it for last. Unfortunately, my experience of the "last stage" was ruined because I got invaded by a black phantom. FYI, that's another online player. He ignored me and then proceeded to kill all the enemies and NPCs on that level, including a NPC that was going to give me something. I summoned other online players and killed him but the damage had been done. I lost out on the pleasure of clearing the stage on my own and some valuable items. I've only been invaded two times before that so I really didn't think it would be an issue. From now on, I think I'll keep preparations for an invasion in place.

Super Mario World? You've never beaten it? I beat it on my own cart before I even got it.

I talked my mom into getting me a SNES for Christmas one year a few months out and they put it in their closet, so we would sneak it out and play. We beat it with a little less than a month early.
