Yes, i've been an MGS fan for a while now but never played the original for myself Unfortunately this PC version is a bit ganked, my controller will not work at all. I may have to emulate the PS1 version :P

Wonder when we'll get a solid release date. I'm thinking at E3 or one of the events around then (Gamescom, GDC). D2R is possibly my most hyped game all year. It's really good that they're not full on remaking it, I would definitely not want a remake. It is nice that the Crash devs are behind this remaster versus the guys that did that WC3R trainwreck. I LOVE WC3 and I didn't even want to play past a few missions in that.

I find it strange that Diablo IV is still targeted last gen consoles, while D2R is getting PS5/Series X ports. I mean, I get that they rushed the Diablo IV announcement out for damage control and haven't really talked about it much since past that Rogue trailer (I thought Andariel killed them all). It's obviously not going to not having a current gen version.

I'd like to go back to Hellfire some time, be it the The Hells 2 mod or Hellfire itself. I did somehow manage to capture footage of the actual CD of Hellfire even with its compatibility and graphical issues. There is a way to add in the Barbarian and Bard, though they are just the Warrior and Rogue with different stats, the Barbarian can use two handed weapons in one hand and the Bard can use two one handed weapons like Dual Wield in Diablo II. You can unlock some other extras along with those by making a command.txt file and adding in some variables. Look it up.

Did you hear about Blizzcon this weekend? I'm cautiously...sort of...optimistic, if only interested for Diablo stuff, don't care about Warcraft since they made it an MMO, I don't like Overwatch, and I don't play Starcraft. Anything else, I don't play. I don't even know what else they'd show...Call of Duty and Candy Crush I think I heard the article a few days ago tease. Diablo Immortal is a terrible idea, but I suppose if it's actually coming out, I might as well play it on Bluestacks on PC so I can have a controller or at least not touchscreens. The story should be alright even if the gameplay sucks. I'm also cautiously optimistic for a Diablo II remaster/remake, and hearing more about Diablo IV can't be bad.

Yes, it's really nice to find someone else into Diablo!

I...am cautiously optimistic, I suppose. III really wasn't bad at all, just a huge letdown after II. It's fun going back through III with the various classes, I especially had fun with my recent trip through with the Necromancer on my Series X, and I remember the Demon Hunter is also very fun.

I've played through D1, Hellfire like two decades ago, II and LoD many MANY times (at one point I had a level 99 barbarian with full immortal king), and beat III on Hardcore. Obviously I'm even more excited for D4 than I would normally be because it features Lilith.

I started streaming Diablo II LoD with PlugY, but when I got to Act II Nightmare, my hard drive crashed (literally started smoking), so I got a whole new computer to be completely safe. I've played Median XL, believe I'm on Nightmare Act V with my Necromancer, but I stopped cause it began to get a little too hectic. It's a cool mod, though. I have a mod for Hellfire called The Hell 2 or something, I'm excited to get into that.

PS-Also because Reaper of Souls was MUCH better than vanilla D3

Chrono Trigger is my all-time favorite video game. I was prepared for a sequel/spinoff to not live up to my expectations, but Chrono Cross made me legitimately angry, to the point where I wish I'd never touched it.

First, it doesn't feel like it exists in the same universe as Trigger. The character and monster designs look nothing like the ones in Trigger. The world map is radically different from anything seen across multiple time periods in Trigger (and the explanation for that comes WAY too late in the game). You've suddenly got fairies, dwarves, dragons, and other ubiquitous fantasy creatures, whereas Trigger was distinctive for avoiding or at least downplaying all the classic RPG creatures that have been done to death. Plus now there are generic space aliens?

The tone yo-yos between miserably depressing and utterly wacky. Everyone now speaks with a contrived accent, whereas the only different speech patterns in Trigger were in different time periods. And Schala is suddenly is little blonde girl with short hair (with an unfathomably different personality and speech pattern, if we accept that Kid is her clone)? And the game is atrocious about feeding the player meaningful information to help them figure out how Trigger and Cross are connected; it's halfway through the game before you get any useful information, and a massive infodump RIGHT BEFORE THE FINAL BOSS finally makes the connections that should've been steadily forming throughout the entire game.

Second, the character roster is completely out of control, and it barely matters who's in your party anyhow because it's so easy to brute force most of the battles. Ignore the colors, spam the enemy with your most powerful spells, and heal occasionally, and you win just about every time. And it's infuriating to spend so much time equipping/re-equipping characters every time a new person joins, just to try them out for a few battles, because there's no sense leaving a benched character equipped with things that absolutely everyone can use.

Third, the game goes out of its way to ruin everything good about Trigger. The happy ending where you saved the world just made things worse. All the characters you loved and cared about ended up meeting some horrible fate.

Chrono Cross isn't a logical continuation of Chrono Trigger; it's a completely unrelated and mediocre RPG that cashes in on some name recognition, tarnishing that name in the process. I hate it.

But yeah, amazing soundtrack.

Didn't see your message until just now lol. Doom 64 is great! A lot more atmospheric than the other classic Doom games, but a worthy entry to the series nonetheless. The modern rerelease of it is a great port as well.
