Criteria for
ing a game: all levels/quests/etc. completed, all major items found or events passed. Extra modes like time, score attacks, et al. typically do not count unless they provide a quantifiable reward (like an item or ability, not just a leaderboard entry or medal), same goes for games with grading systems (i.e. I don't have to get all S ranks in a game for completion). All this is subject to "within reason" exceptions.
Previously, my criteria for completion has required beating a game on the highest (reasonable) difficulty setting, but I have come to realize that many games are too poorly designed or balanced for their higher difficulty modes to the point it sucks all the fun out. To that end, I'm eliminating that requirement if it makes a game clearly unfun.

I'm not a fan of how games are organized for the PlayStation Network or Xbox One under a gigantic umbrella system, so I've developed my own way to categorize them more accurately using the "original system" field in their entries:
β PlayStation Network games that are cross buy for two or more systems are under just "PSN", and will only be logged for progress once even if I play through them anew on multiple consoles.
β PlayStation Network games that can only be played on a single console (or are only available for other consoles as separate, non-cross buy purchases) will be listed under the console they're exclusive to with "PSN" in the "original system" field. Digital versions of physically available games will be listed the same way.
β Xbox One games that are only available digitally will have "XBLA" in the "original system" field.
β Xbox One games that I own digitally, but are available physically, will have "XbxGoD" in the "original system" field.
β Additionally, digital versions of retail 3DS games will be listed under 3DS with "3DSDL" in the "original system" field.
If I own a digital copy of a game and then get a physical version of it, I'll add the physical copy as a new or nulled game (depending on previous progress) and leave the digital version nulled, so I can remember I own an on demand copy. This may require moving the digital duplicate to another system in some cases, like with how I categorize PSN games.

As Backloggery counts many items as individual game entries when they shouldn't be, I'm keeping track of these outliers to find my true game total.
DLC: TBD
Duplicates: TBD
Compiled games: TBD
Number of compilation titles: TBD
Total deduction from All Games: TBD
(StreetPass Mii Plaza is an exception: I've listed it as a compilation merely for convenience, but its nature as a sort of "social game app" makes it unique.)
(Rare Replay is a special case, as the way it works with the Xbox 360/XBLA titles is by giving you special licenses to play them through backwards compatibility, rather than being a compilation of native ports, so those affected titles will be counted.)

I count achievements on Xbox LIVE by gamerscore, on Steam by actual number, and trophies on PlayStation Network by percentage.

Miscellaneous milestones:
β Took almost 7 years, but I broke 10,000 gamerscore on 10/18/13. That's cool I guess.
β 20,000 gamerscore on 8/28/14. Much faster.
β Became a Herald of Bak'laag on 12/31/14. What a way to end the year!
β 25,000 gamerscore on 5/15/15
β Certified as a Treasure Hunter on 8/1/15! Though that's not an accurate game total...
β -412 progress for all of 2015, a new low score.
β Became the right hand of Bak'laag on 2/23/16. Sounds about right.
β Hit 30,000 gamerscore on 3/9/16
