Treasure Hunter: 1000+ games
You can definitely do it! Me... ha... Not so sure. January isn't off to the best start with "beating" anything, and I keep looking at the backlog and I have all these "epics" to get through. I don't really have much on the radar yet in terms of purchasing, just RE2, KH3, and Anthem next month. Of course I'm a sure a bunch of release announcements will get made for stuff I've been waiting for. We'll see how the year goes. I'd love to be under 10 before 2020 if anything.

The Bruins and Leafs rivalry is truly awesome. Especially with both teams being good (was a bit one sided back in the early days of the competition haha). I mean it looks like we'll be meeting again in Round 1, unless the Leafs go into a nose dive (Beat the #1 team on Thursday and then get absolutely rocked by Florida on Friday... c'mon guys).

Oh I most definitely have a few pictures of me in the Bergeron jersey. They're tucked safely away though. I was so so worried he was going to make me get a Marchand jersey. I couldn't sleep I was so scared haha. Thankfully it's Bergeron. I like Bergeron. Ok, and yea, Marchand is great at what he does and is so spectacular. He's just not my teams rat, y'know? It's funny. If the Leafs had won, I was absolutely going to make him get a Kessel jersey. Would have been so so sweet.

Yea, the tailgating and shinny in the streets before the game was awesome. They had a lot of stuff going on in advance of the game too. The game itself was wonderful.

We've been having the weirdest but most welcome winter here. We've had... 2?... days of actual snow on the ground. It all melts. Today it's bright and sunny and 6 degrees. We had a really brutal (for us) winter the past two years so this is kind of nice.

Also, Yea Minish Cap!

Picking favourites from the Tales of series is also a difficult task for me! I'd probably have to give the top spot to the most recent one, Tales of Berseria. It has one of the most fun combat systems yet, a fantastic cast all-around and a darker tone compared to the rest of the series. I'd say it was pretty much perfect if not for the fact that the environments continue to be bland and uninteresting to explore. Maybe they will finally work on that with the next main title. It's the biggest issue with the whole series in my eyes.

Least favourites would have to be the two Symphonia games, even if most fans of the series would have my head for saying that about the first one. The original Symphonia really didn't age well in terms of combat and the sequel had the monster/pet system which I really didn't care for. Tales of the Abyss was also from that era, but featured more refined combat compared to Symphonia.

Yeah, it's been rather quiet when it comes to details on Three Houses. I'm fine with that of course, since I'd like to finish my marathon before it comes out. I hope you can get back into and enjoy Echoes if you pick it back up in the meantime.

Have fun playing The Minish Cap! That one's tied with A Link Between Worlds as my favourite handheld Zelda!

You'd never see "-11" and "pretty normal weather" used in the same sentence here.
I remember that fight, one of the few 2-stars I've ever died in. A giant Pikachu is already tricky to deal with, as the large size mitigates one of Pikachu's main weaknesses (poor range). Also beehives are very disruptive and interrupt your attacks when they hit you. It all comes down to whoever grabs the first beehive. I didn't get the first one in my first attempt.

Glad you liked it! I just finished the game.

I don't know, maybe my expectations were too high because it's Danganronpa, but I didn't like it at all. The gameplay was very boring, both protagonists were annoying (Toko and Makoto's sister who's name I forgot already), the story was just straight bad. It waits until chapter 4 to kinda develop, especially chapter 5 is story emphasized, but the ending was just so predictable and easy.

But I guess that's just my opinion, it scores around 70/100 on Metacritic so that's not too bad.

I'm still sad though, Danganronpa V3 is actually one of my favourite games of all time.

I'm definitely going to play it, and am honestly a little surprised with myself that I haven't yet. I've just been so luke-warm to the idea for some reason. We'll see. I'd like to try and finally eliminate my Backlog this year (hahahahaha - off to a great start so far...), and I think I'm saving it for the home stretch.

Ha. Well, I'm sure you won the bet! Ugh. What a *good* game. Close, aggressive... but yea, B's came out on top. I was pretty sour. See you in Round 1 AGAIN I guess. With the way things are going. Though in all honesty if Tampa doesn't win the cup this year I will uncomfortably laugh. It's scary how good they are. Did you make a ton of money on the bet or force them to wear a Marchand jersey? I actually have a Bergeron jersey. Reason being I made a really stupid bet in 2013 with a dear friend who is a Bruins fan. Whoever won the series, the loser had to purchase a jersey for the player of the winners choice, and all their social media had to be in support of the winners team until that team was out of the playoffs. SO I got to put [Link] as my picture until the B's were out... which was what? Conference finals in 2013? Ugh.

It was Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbour! It was unreal. Highest attendance in hockey history (I'm pretty sure all of hockey, not even just the NHL). I want to say over 103,000 people. It was CRAZY! An insanely good time. It was my wife's first NHL game too hahaha... it was dumping snow and freezing. We kept dusting the people off in front of us, and the guys behind us kept dusting us off. Tailgate parties and way too much libation. It was amazing.

Yea, it's unfortunate none of the other games in the series have really lived up to the first.

Oh, that's such a nice place to have a wedding! I can understand how reaching it might be problematic, though. Anyway, congrats to the couple who's getting married there!
I'm about as used to cold weather as I'm used to hot temperatures, but my body tends to take a while before it cools down when I stay outside for long, and to warm up quickly when I get into buildings. We've had temeratures of about -8 °C for the past few days but they don't affect me much compared to other people I know.
Lucina is actually pretty fun, and one of the easiest sword fighters to get into. I slightly prefer Roy because his playstyle rewards aggression more than careful positioning like most other sword users, myself. Game & Watch is also pretty lame to use, I agree; I really don't like what they did to his forward air, it got completely changed from Smash 4 and I prefer the old move a lot more. I have no idea how I'm supposed to use the new one like a proper forward air. Him and Duck Hunt aren't bad, but they're some of the most gimmicky fighters in the game and take some time to get used to.
I have no idea what I'm doing in fighters outside of Smash. I believe the only other one I've played is Pokkén Tournament, basically a Tekken game but every character is a Pokémon. It's actually quite fun, but it's MUCH harder to get into than Pokémon... but I ended up breezing through the single-player content because the CPUs are very bad. If I were to play against a decent human opponent, I would be wrecked.

Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
Ok so best and worst games of the year. The best one that I played this year is probably Nier: Automata, you don't need to play the first one to understand it and the game does roughly go over what happened in that one later in it. But it's game play is the usual platinum games hack and slash stuff so you know it's really fun. The story and characters are where it really shines though. I'm probably going to be buying everything that the writer makes from now on. Spider-man and God of War are second and third place mostly. I can't really think of a game I hated so I'll narrow it down to a company. Konami, I'll never forgive them for P.T. or Kojima. It could have been so good!
Hope lives on!
