If you end up doing New Game+ knowing what you know now, you'll be able to spot the hints about C'tron's identity scattered throughout the game. It's really impressive how subtle it is.

Spelunky 2 definitely feels more difficult than the last game, and I don't think it's just because the game is new and I'm not as familiar with it. There seems to be quite a few more enemies and traps that can wreck you or just insta-kill you outright. Even so, I've been enjoying the experience. I can't tell you how many times I've thought "What the heck is THAT?" over the past week when I encounter something new. This game has so many secrets and mysteries, and it's been a pleasure discovering them so far.

You're very welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Nicely done on being a speedy boi. I was a total slug in my first playthrough and got swept by Emilie. It wasn't until my second playthrough (when I had a better idea of what to do) that I was able to enjoy the sweet nectar of victory. Oh well.

Ohohoho~

Earlier in the game, when Lea and Evotar-Lukas were trapped in Vermilion Wasteland, there was a scene where they were sitting on that weird rock formation overlooking the lake and Lukas said something to the effect of, "If C'tron was here, he'd probably be complaining about how unnatural these rocks are." Then, much later on after everything had happened, C'tron appears on that same rock formation and says, "He's right. These rocks really don't make any sense, do they?" That's what he was referring to.

But how would C'tron possibly have known what Lukas said while trapped in a place that normal players shouldn't even know about?

Take a moment to re-watch that final dream sequence -- the one where Lea and Sidwell get to know each other. As you do, pay particularly close attention to Sidwell's facial expressions.

Congrats on beating CrossCode. I have two questions.

One: How many dungeon races with Emilie did you win?

Two: Do you know why C'tron appeared in Vermilion Wasteland in the after-credits scene?

I beat Star Successor on Normal difficulty in March with only a moderate amount of fist-shaking and teeth-gnashing, and I've just been chipping away at the Hard difficulty little by little over the past two months. I can't really sit down and power through it in extended sittings since this game really makes my dang wrist hurt, so progress has been slow and excruciating.

I cannot tell you how many times I've reached a point in the game that made me take a deep sigh and think, "This is it. This is as far as I go. I can't do this. This boss/level is just too difficult for me." But here we are. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just have to get through Deko, the final level, and the boss rush at the end. What once seemed so impossible now seems doable. This is shaping up to be one of the most hard-fought s of my gaming career.

Thank you for the encouragement. It is nice to know that someone out there is rooting for me. I appreciate it.

I'm in agreement with you on WL3, but only in regards to getting all of the Music Coins. Getting all of the Treasures felt fine, but the Music Coins with their lackluster reward definitely felt like a waste of time.

Agree with your feelings on WL3, the game left a weird taste with me for that reason. I know WL games are never too linear (at least compared to the Mario series) but 3 with its hidden exits, branching paths and strange day/night system felt too... convoluted, for lack of a better word I guess. It's a good game but I'd sooner return to other WL games before that one.

Yeah I don't blame you in the slightest for that. I've been hesitant on even starting it for years because I've never been good at first person platforming and it looked kinda like a (cool) nightmare to get into. C'est la vie, yeah?

And thanks, my dude! You're nearly at 9, and holy crap it's been a long time since we joined. TO THE FUTURE!

Saw you update Mirror's Edge and got a giggle seeing the blunt opinion about it. Thanks for the laugh my dude. Anything in particular you hated about it?

I did indeed. It was very charming and had an interesting setting. I just wish the dang game was finished. According to the Experimental Gamer website, the second part of the Boot Hill Heroes trilogy has been "almost ready" since 2015.
