Late, sorry! But yes, it was Near's (formerly known as byuu) translation. It's a lot more solid than the DeJap translation, notably not mistranslating the spear Alsvidr as... Auschwitz (the spear is named "ausuvizzu" goddamnit, auschwitz in japanese would absolutely be like. "aushubittsu" or "aushuvittsu" or something), and not naming the dragon subtype Gigas as Giygas because lol tomato is an earthbound fan i guess (never mind that giygas in japanese is like. giigu and not giigasu gfdi).

The game is still very. Full of questionable humor, a bit Working Designs-ish, from the way it was written originally though, same writer as the Wall Market and Honey Bee Inn sections in Final Fantasy VII (also FFXIII but that game is more serious) so, what can you do. The gameplay and strategy wasn't enough to make me like the game in spite of it, but I encourage people to play it since tastes are subjective and people can find things they like about it.

Also the final boss as a cool ass design, 2ch anons working on VIP or carol would be all over Mariofying the fucker. I'd do it but 1) I'm not good at pixel art 2) I'm a bit burnt out from SMW hacking for now and I don't feel like doing anything with SMBX other than simple shitpost contest levels. I'll most likely not return to SMWC but I'll be down with doing a hack on my own time and releasing it on talkhaus and romhacking dot net.

Currently doing Lunar: Eternal Blue on Sega CD and Legend of Heroes IV: A Tear of Vermilion, started Windows but there's a lot of text and my brain just goes Numb when there's a lot of untranslated text so I just went with the poorly translated PSP release. Debating whether I'll start LoH's Trails in the Sky trilogy before or after finishing Gagharv with LoHV. Need to continue Terranigma too and start Wild ARMs 3, Fallout 1 and FFX-2 sometime in the future.

Good job @ Mario Maker. Currently trudging through Bahamut Lagoon, near the end and really, I'd take this game's humor much better if it didn't feel so South Park-ish.
