I find the art style pretty offensive, but the game mechanics are pretty fun. Just grinding out the last two trophies for this, and I'll be done!

Haha, you might have heard about Kitty the Kool from me, since I really didn't like it.

It's cute at least! And short. Super easy to fit into one session. I'm curious as to what you think about it, regardless if you like it or not.

Hey, how ya been? I haven't had much free time these days, so most all my games just sit on my shelf. It's about time I finish Princess Tomato, I'll have to get back to it when I have some free time.

I havent either tbh. I think I have Episode 3 of PSO for Gamecube as well. Need to go back to the 1st one to sink more on and more on it. Loved the style and environments. Played a lot of it on Multi as well. And yes, so I heard. Very iconic and emblematic games from my understanding so Id like to play them if only to see what it was like back then. Sega consoles as a whole, I really wanna dive in more. Sonic games and the Shining series as well as Phantasy Star in particular excite me.

Ofc! Im open to any and all recommendations. I also enjoy pretty much all genres so you don't need to worry about that. I favor RPGs mostly and platfomers are a second. What about you? What can youtell me about your taste? Maybe then I can recc some myself hehe.

Played Pop'n for the first time when 13: Carnival came out. I adore that version. It is the best, most encompassing pop'n game that I can think of. It's wacky, it's fun, it's cute, the track list is so solid!

Thanks! Sorry for the late reply! I'm trying to get my shit together!

Nice new (old) games!
FF12 is good! Especially Zodiac version!

Thanks a lot! That means a lot to me. You're a composer? Can I hear stuff you made?

Also, I'm working on a few games right now!

I have honestly no idea how the Bemani scene is here. According to the Zenius -I- Vanisher arcade tracker database, we only have 2 IIDX machines in the country, one of which is — in my judgement — housed in some money laundering shell-business masquerading as an arcade. I don't know anyone else who plays Bemani games besides some friends who might occasionally come over to play in my home.

I have an outsider history with Bemani in that I by-chance played a non-DDR Bemani game for the first time in Japan just a couple years ago. I quickly realized I liked it a lot and had been missing out. Since that time I've picked up a small collection of arcade-style controllers to play Pop'n, SDVX, and IIDX. That's enough for me for now, but I'd love to go "legit" if there was somewhere close by where I could play these games on real hardware. (To be fair to be Konami, I haven't really given their subscription-model games a fair look yet, but I recall feeling insulted by the size of the track collection the last time I looked into it.)

A while back I did have a chance to go to a Round1 in Seattle and it was pretty magical. Although, the clientele had bad taste and the Groove Coaster machine was getting the most love out of everything... (# ̄ω ̄)

Ah! Regarding Monster World IV, it's definitely a treasure of the 16-bit era, I think. It's my first forray into the Wonder Boy / Monster World series, but my understanding is that [the most recent games, at least] the games that came before it were more sprawling and metroidvania-like? This one's actually rather authoritatively linear, but still gives you the feeling of the mobility progression of those games, as your pet familiar gets augmented with different abilities at various points throughout the game. Plus, as a linear game the pacing is super tight and never leaves you unclear of where to go next. The spritework is super adorable too, I know you'll get a kick out of the sliding, slipping, and walking-against-conveyor-belt animations whenever you get around to playing it.

Also Bemani is cool. I wish Round1 would hurry up and expand to Canada, but for now I just play Osu! in my bedroom and definitely not dumps of arcade machine hard drives, I've never even heard of a website called sows.

Unfortunately I've still never been to a Round 1 and also don't have a way to play any Bemani at the moment. I have been playing IIDX since the 10th style days along with DDR and pop'n. Pop'n and IIDX are my favorites, though.
