Don't worry, the fourth and fifth episodes of the first game have both investigation and trial parts.

The second game follows the traditional Ace Attorney formula a bit more closely and only the first case is trial only. Although the fourth and fifth epsiodes are basically one big case.

Yeah, it's a staple. I sometimes judge the Layton games by how absurd their big reveal is, I always love them. Though a lot of them taking place in some kind of fake city does kind of get tiring after a while.
