Oh man, where do I begin? "The World Ends with You" might just have one of my favorite stories in any media I've ever seen. I loved seeing a story where a lead character has to break out of his shell and gain a better understanding of society and learn that people are worthwhile without all of the tired cliches and tropes. The "Power of Friendship" has been done to death, so this was a welcome breath of fresh air.

Neku reminded me of my old self, too. When I was younger, I got bullied a lot by my teachers and in one case, by another student. There was a decent chunk of my middle school life where I pushed people away and wanted to be alone. Being depressed at the time didn't really help either. I eventually met more people who helped me open up a lot more. Our shared interests helped a lot with that.

Probably my favorite aspect of the story is how by the end of the first week, Neku had become friends with Shiki, only to then be partnered up with Joshua on the second week, who he more or less had to prove the very thing Shiki taught him to Joshua. There were constant points where I never really thought about certain ways people might behave and how it helped my better understand society. As someone who's majoring in Psychology, I had a blast with it!

The soundtrack is up there with the music from the Jet Set Radio games as some of my favorite to listen to, and is now something I regularly play while I'm driving. It's so catchy and full of great beats! My favorite songs have to be "Three Minutes Clapping," "Game Over," and "Calling," though Twister (especially the Kingdom Remix) is another one that's darn close! I'd love for there to be a sequel, both so I can experience another great story and so I can hear more of these excellent tunes!

Another aspect I loved was how convenient everything was! The fact that you can adjust the difficulty, lower your current level to increase the drop rate of items, the different abilities you can test out in battle, and the fact that the pins made for some fun, new ways to experience and change up battles was brilliant! Talk about quality of life! Grinding is never a fun time in RPGs, so anything I can get to make it easier is always welcome! It's an experience you can craft for yourself. This is the kind of design that makes me fall in love with games!

I'm glad you and I got to experience a game this great! It left quite an impact on me, and I hope to share it with others! Have a wonderful day, Alayna!

The explosion of confetti is really doing it for me! You got soooome comedic timing, Girlie! I actually just got back in town not that long ago, so I've been out of it, too. Now, I'm face-to-face with my first Steam backlog. In the middle of the goddamn Summer sale. Well, I guess that'll be my event this Summer. I try to do that each Summer (one year, I finished Dragon Ball Z, watched GT, and started Super), just to keep the season from being awful; when you're too old for Summer vacation, it's just a time of the year that's hot and gross and things you didn't even know could touch get stuck together. It's a little less awful, because my lady and our current houseguest are all nudists, so we can just sit around with our tits out; no big deal.

They make a great couple! What's it the kids are saying? "I ship it?" I really like her, too; the style reminds me of Wind Waker! I still have yet to check out the smoking crater that's been left in E3's aftermath, come to think of it. I used to get so excited for that time of the year, but anymore, I'm just over it. That said, I've heard that the new Pokémon will only have 120 monsters! That's so exciting; I might actually get interested in Pokémon again! Because throwing 800 collectible monsters at someone with OCD is just something you don't fucking do. I'm not sure what it is about that last one, but something makes me want to hang out with her. Granted, people'd think I'm her mom, but whateves.

Well, that's good; the gatekeeping in the queer community at large is fucking ridiculous. You're queer; you know damn well what it's like to have people shitting on you for what you are; WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO ANYONE ELSE, KNOWING HOW THAT FEELS!? People of all walks of life have enough trouble with living without assholes passing judgment on them; we should all just learn to leave each other alone, if we can't like each other. I've looked up the full flag, and I do really like it; it's an interesting color combo with a lovely gradient on both sides.

I miss the old trans flag: it was a rainbow flag with a black seahorse in the middle; SO COOL! The new one's just kinda plain; I think it should have some brighter colors, at least. I'm not big on pastels, though, so I'm biased.

Awww, you look like you're showing up for a Summer picnic! If you are a watermelon, though, wearing that is pretty fucking metal!

Holy moly, The World Ends with You is SUCH A GOOD GAME. I haven't even beaten it yet, and it's very quickly becoming one of the best games I've ever played. I love the characters, the story, the combat system, and the music is full of catchy and enjoyable tunes! This OST is so unique, I love it to death! Three Minutes Clapping is without a doubt my favorite song I've heard thus far.

The only complaint I have with the game is that Mingle Exp isn't the most convenient thing in the world to get, but that's a fairly minor complaint for something completely optional. Everything else is just so dang solid! Like, I just feel really happy and pleasant inside when I'm playing it. It's a wonderful feeling to have!

So, I actually just completely forgot to respond, because fuck sleep, apparently. Sorry about that!

That girl is about to fuck up somebody's day. I love how Ella's just egging her on, too! I like both versions; the second one looks like what the first one sees in a mirror after getting all strung out on that electric prune juice. I've been there... The constellation one is really cool, too; I haven't seen that kind of art in a long time, probably since World of Illusion or Blastris A from Super Scope 6.

I've liked it for a long time, for whatever reason, and it's not even always an attraction thing; I used to think the red half of Lost Number from Final Fantasy 7 was cool, so I'd always make sure I fought that one. It's been on my mind, too, since I'd been playing it again. It wasn't as good as I'd remembered, but I'd been so damn starved for anything resembling a Metroid the first time that I think that was a part of it. WiiWare version's music is better, too. Well, now, that's an interesting idea; guess I'd be in an all-out war against pineapple. Kinda like real life... 🤔 It started it, though. Anyway, what is the flag on the right side of your profile, if you don't mind my asking? My dusty dyke ass can't keep all the flags straight anymore... which I suppose is the point. *sigh* I'm switching to Spanish, now, K?

To me, I think it's largely in the presentation; pandering or not, you're doing the same thing, but subtlety is a thing, you know? Usually a good thing, unless you're trying to make something that's completely stupidly over-the-top, like Broforce or Wild Arms or something. Steven Universe is one example of getting it right, I think; it's about a bunch of lesbian space rocks battling monsters all over the cosmos, but they don't really dwell on it. It's just, "Yup; we're ladies that like ladies."

Yeah! I'm of the mindset that green and pink generally don't go together - unless you're a watermelon; watermelons don't know any better - but you always make it work, somehow.

Oh, yeah, and HAPPY PRIDE MONTH! 💖🧡💛💚💙💜

The more you describe Bowser's Inside Story, the more I want to play that instead. I'm also really glad to hear that there's nothing else in Patners in Time after you beat it. This game's writing is so, so bad, and the characters and villains are so, so bland. I hate being negative, but Fawful has been the only high point of this game. I don't see myself returning to this ever again after I beat it. It's just so boring and monotonous.

Thankfully, once I return this to the Gamestop I bought this from, I should be able to immediately buy Bowser's Inside Story, since they had plenty of copies of that game, both in terms of the remake and the original. I'm very much looking forward to playing it!

Hah, good to know. I suppose they will make a similar move for Sword/Shield. Meanwhile, I STILL need to even all of Gen 1. Issues on cart batteries and dealing with backups, etc. for a little more than a year. (I have everything all resolved now)

It's going to be a while yet before I can even play the later cores. I have a thing about playing most games in chronological order.

I'm glad to hear that Bowser's Inside Story is as much of an improvement as you say! My time with Partners in Time has been pretty hit and miss as is (mostly the latter). There are quite a few problems I have already, but I think the thing that disappoints me the most are the villains.

Cackletta and Fawful were such memorable and interesting characters in Superstar Saga, it was hard to not like them. The Shroobs by comparison just boil down to "I am evil, must destroy." as their motive and even then, the fact you can't understand them kills any chance at them having any quirky or interesting speech patterns, such as how Fawful's dialoge worked. Everytime Cackletta and Fawful were on-screen in SS, I had a huge smile on my face, whereas every time the Shroobs are on-screen in PiT, I just sit there with a blank stare on my face, waiting for things to progress. The Shroobs are just more extreme versions of Mario characters and that's about it.

I'm not sure if that's a result of the game being rushed or what, though I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case. I've already encountered a softlock or two and I even found a clip that lets me skip straight to the final dungeon after I first gain access to the main entrance, which is supposed to stop you from entering it until much, much later on in the game. I jokingly thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be funny if I could roll under the gate in the ball form?" and then I actually did. I even clipped straight through the doors just beyond it. It was shockingly easy to do, and I found out that by doing this, I don't even need to finish more than two other areas to beat the game. This is what it looked like if you're curious: [Link]

I don't know how long I'll be working on PiT, though I will at least try to beat it. I think the only thing that could stop me from doing so at this point is some gamebreaking glitch or something like a stupidly long boss gauntlet that forces you through the entire thing again if you lose at any point. Keeping my fingers crossed that won't be the case.

You got to catch 'em all. Congrats!

Question though, each game of the Let's Go series has their own exclusives, right? I wonder how that works? One does not simply have two Switch machines at the same time, unless if there is some kind of service similar to the Pokebank.

How did you do it?
